Could be interesting. Looks like there will be alot of nice cars.

Where is it exactly? I know it's somewhere near the M3/M25 junction. Can anyone just turn up?

Cheers

Si,

VW is off the M25 at the Egham junction and about 5 minutes up the A30. The meet is in the main car park next to the Wheatsheaf pub. Unfortunately it is £4 to get into the car park, but I think it's worth it for the cars you see and the people you meet. There are detailed directions and some pictures of a past meet here:

Cheers for the info Nick. That looks like it would be a good day out (weather permitting). I will ask Cd01uk if he is interested to. Is it £4 per car or per person?

On another note Nick, I had a look at your WWW and would be interested in some info (PM me) about Hill climbing. A freind of mine has a mini that he is currently doing up and is having trouble finding a club/clubs that do on road hill climbing.

Thanks for the info

Si,

It's £4/car as there is a barrier that you pay at - it's not the people organising the event taking the money, it's the national trust or royal estates.

Funny that, about your mate with the Mini cos I am doing exactly the same!

The pics on my site are from Gurston Down, I have a mate who races a single seater there. More info here:

http://www.gurstondown.org/

I did speak to some of the guys running mini's there - they are a popular car. You can race quite competivly in a Mini as the bike engined kit cars go in a different class. I think all you need is a race license (£30), a racing log book for the car (they have to inspect it) and a skid lid and you are away. The only thing that puts me off is that you hang around all day and only get to run 4 or 5 times, so not much track time really. Best thing to do is make sure that your car is prepped so that you can run it at different events and track days so you get the most out of it.

First thing to do is find your local track and go for the day and talk to people - they are usually very friendly and willig to chat.

Cheers

Thanks for all the info Nick. Where will you be going from to get to VW? Thinking of a convoy.

Ok Nick, we will be there. What time are you aiming to get there?

Would it be ok for me to give my m8 your e-mail address so he can contact with any questions he might have regarding hill climbing?

Hello there  I think NikB is getting there around 12:00. Me and Cdo1uk are aiming to get there about 11:30, hoping to meet the convoy that is leaving from Clackets Lane services. Should be a good day.

Hi Mate,

Hope you had a good day after travelling all that way!

Sorry I missed you, but I had to shoot off.

The pictures are great, my battery decided to die so I didn't get many. What a great turnout, I think that's the best I've ever seen.

I managed to blast up the A30 with a group of TVR's and kept up!

Have you go the details on the Crawley RR session, I need to stick mine on the rollers again.

Cheers

Hi Nick, it was a great day. I might even have some video footage when I have worked out how to use the software and make the clips a sensible size!

There will be pictures of your car later as Keith took some. I have know idea why I didn't any though!

The RR day is on the 20th March. There is a complete post in this section with all the details. I think you need to let Ken know (See the post).
