View Full Version : Chessington meet, change to weekday evening?

Seems to be a lot of people not being able to make the Chessington meets at a weekend, thought I'd see what most people prefer weekday evening or weekend

Personally prefer weekday evening as I work weekends and when I'm not working I'm normally at Chelsea

If its a weeknight i might be able to make it, never around the east at weekends.....

(obviously being a lowley mr2 driver this is less exciting for you :( )

Usually too tired weekday evenings. Plus it's too cold/dark to be outside checking out peoples' cars.

Can't see the problem with saturdays... it's only once a month!

I work weekends too....Hence why i'm never at the meets! Weekdays would be better for me but it'd probably be too dark in the evenings at the mo.

I think we did quite early meets the last few I was at, but late is not a problem for me..

i guess most people work 9-5 so will want to wrap it up not too late- i'm up for popping by later and staying til whenever people leave

TBH, I'd prefer it to stay at weekends because I'm too tired during the week. I could prolly manage an early evening meet - 6pmish, but much later than that & I wouldn't bother, since it'd mean hanging round at work till it was time to leave for the meet.

Maybe alternating is the way to go  I'll vote later when I've made my mind up :)

(BTW, to Jules & Jeremy, had wondered why you two never came to the meets any more :D )

well, maybe we need to have two meets then, either two a month, one at the weekend and one in the evening. Or bi-monthly meets, one month at a weekend, one month in the evening:)

Makes no odds to me - not that anyone would wanna see my car. Me and Adam can have our own meet.... the non-***** apprecition society meet :D For Germans and hairdressers.... :p :D

I don't mind, but during the week, i don't get home from work until 7pm at the earliest, then i got 15mins to drive.

Thats if i leave work dead ontime.

I really don't mind, i can change my plans easilly enough.

We used to have the first meets usually thursdays such as the sainsburys car park outside epsom town centre. I think alternate weekend/ weekdays might be a better option for some of us especially as I'm now back after my motorbike accident( except currently requiring a starter motor for the car).

Voted to alternate, but don't mind really as I'm only 20 mins away.

Although tend to be in Kent alternate weekend to see the lady

Going to leave the poll open for another week to allow any other SE people to vote then see what the majority want to do and then go with that:)

weekday eves would suit me better at the moment, w/e is always hectic. How about making the w/e meet later in the day, say late afternoon and evening.

Reading the various comment's and looking at the votes it seems that of those who voted most would prefer weekday evening or dont mind, how about we try alternate Saturday one month and weekday evening the next for a couple of months and see how it goes?
