I have been offered a set of skyline front brakes for my 200sx, for £300. Finding out exactly what I am getting for the wonga. The discs need skimming but are otherswise sound.

Ross, How much/long did it take to get your ones fitted?

Ben, do you reckon this is more trouble than it is worth?

Anyone recommend anything else, I would ideally like 4pots, but don't really want to spend AP kind of money £900ish. me thinks.

Any help/advise will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys,

Hi John, hows it going...

For £300 I would snap them up. Even if the Discs need skimming the other parts are worth more than that alone. I would speak with Simon Norris about time/labour as I had my R33 setup fitted the same day as the Springs, Actuator and Exhaust.

Its not a really difficult job but bear in mind the 4-pot Brembo Calipers are pretty big so you will need plenty of space behind the wheels (18"'s would help).

You will need all the hoses and mounting parts, the standard holding bolts will work but its recommended that you get longer ones made to fit (Norris can get these for you). Personally, I stayed with the standard ones(on recommendation from Simon).

Be assured, the brakes are bonkers and will stop you like nothing else, I would certainly recommend it. I have been in situations where I have had to outbrake someone and it has been amazing how early other cars need to start slowing.

One thing to be careful about is that noboddy goes into the back of you!

The best thing is that the 330 (?)mm Discs look HUGE!

I have told him I want them, just need to see when he is going to get his 6 pots. could all fall through, if it does I will have to find another R33 owner.

Can't wait!!!! Hmm.... Best start looking for 18" that I like now http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif that is the hard part.

Thanks Ross,

John.

John,

What you up to on Sunday? Pop down to the Shire Horse @ 3pm (on the A4 between Maidenhead and Reading), you can take a look at my setup and go for a spin, see if the difference is worth it.
