I HAVE A 1993 200SX (DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN S14 AND S13 AND I'M NOT BLONDE!). SWITCHED THE ENGINE ON LAST WEEK AND THE HEADLIGHTS FLIPPED UP, AND HAVE BEEN UP EVER SINCE! DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS HOW TO FIX IT? MY BOYFRIEND'S HANDY WITH CARS BUT WE DON'T HAVE A MANUAL FOR THE 200SX, AND SO DON'T KNOW WHICH RELAY WORKS WHICH BIT. HELP THIS DAMSEL IN DISTRESS PLEASE!!!

Petra,

If your 200 has pop up headlights it's a S13. Post this request in the S13 technical to get a quicker reply.

There is a windy down cog thing next to each light (under bonnet) to manually wind then up & down.

Probably just the pop up switch been pressed on the dash.

Yep defo' an S13 with pop up lights. Check the switches on the dash, should be two each side of the steering wheel, one for hazard lights, one for rear demist, one for fog lights and finally one for flipping the lights up. I always catch these things with my knee when i get in, and turn the blinkin'g fogs on or flip the lights up. Right pain, 'specially for the people behind staring at the fog lights.

I'm with Clong on that. I've grown out of accidentally pressing the lights-up switch when I put the keys in. But for a while it was a pain. Just check the position of the big fat button. I've been though the wiring diagrams and I can't see any other electrical reason your problem would arise. Can I suggest that if your boyfriend can't suss that one it's time to get a new bloke. (Sorry Petra's boyfriend).
