Not the mst technical question in the World I know, but has anybody got aftermarket mats in their S14? Just wondering if the Halforbes type fit or if I need to get Nissan ones cos of the big lump in the passenger footwell.

Cheers

Halfords say their custom mats will fit... but do you trust them?

I got some Nissan mats for my S14a, which have a nice 200sx logo, but are black (my car is now VERY black inside). They also cost about £70 from the Nissan dealer!

Thanks for the info!

Do your Nissan mats have a cut out for the lumpy floor?

The only ones I could find in Halforbes that I liked were about £40 anyway (Momo ones). As for 'custom fit' they label said they would fit about 500 other motors!
So £70 for ones that will actually fit doesn't hurt so much!

Why are all the Halforbes ones covered in Lax Bowels logos or in hideous colours?

The Nissan mat just goes over the lump! It takes a bit of bedding in before it moulds itself to shape! AND my drivers side mat keeps coming off it's little hook http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/mad.gif

Just ordered a set - £54.00 all in. Seems better than buying the Halforbes sheeeite.

I got some AutoStyle ones (about £60 I think), for front and back. They are cut to the cars floorplan and fit like a glove...the have a non slip back with a securing device so it pins to the carpet.

You can choose the colour and the stitching round the sides...

I got ones with drilled aluminium foot plates for the ultimate max power boy racer style, with 'Turbo' embroided on them.

Gay. But also quite cool at the same time.

JackaL use an electrical zip tie to hold the drivers mat on the plastic hook, works a treat.

I got the Autostyle ones too. Went for the £100 set of 4 and have got "200sx" in Silver writing on the front ones. Well worth it.

Mine did that too, so I bought aa set of really cheap mats off the market (about £5), which had an extra square of carpet sewn on top where it goes under the pedals. I transfered this to my Nissan mats - works a treat.

What gets me is the S14 excellent design of clips which hold the passengers side Nissan mat down but the drivers side is totally inferior. Why oh why do they have different type clips each side?!?!
