Just picked up my 98 S14, drove for 30 mins and the n/s door window has jammed half open. The car lives on the street, the dealer is shut and I dont have a manual yet. Advice needed on either removing trim or a quick way of getting the window up.

TIA

Dave

Forget it, I'm an a**h***.
Ive just read the bit about the safety button on the driver's door.

I know, I should have RTFM B4 panicking.

cheers

Dave,

Very nice ride you got there mate! Luverly!!!! And you got some tasty rims to go with it... what size are they? 18"? And how wide? And did you lower the car?

Well I've been out for an hour or 2 and I'm well impressed. I think I'm probably a bit older than most users on here, and because of this I've been getting a bit of stick from the mates, - you know, the stuff about mid life crisis, male menopause etc, etc. - but sod 'em, I don't care, this car is awesome.
I haven't had a car with power like the SX B4. In my younger days I had a V6 Capri and an Elan +2, but of late i've had an old 5 series B*W (no sarcasm please :-), which wasn't very rapid.
My S14a is a bog standard auto touring, '98R, and for the time being has more than enough bang under the hood for my driving skills.
Bought it from a main agent with 12 months warranty for £9K, full history, one owner.
They fitted new disks and pads all round, 4 new tyres, full service and years MOT, so I'm pretty happy so far.

great board

18inch by 8inch.
Bloody pain trying to find alloys for it though. Looked as though i wasn`t going to find any. Then at the last minute the shop i was using where i had the finance said he had found these 18`s that are used on the huge Lancer Evo calipers so they`d definitely fit my SX.I saw them and the rest is history.
It`s not lowered yet but it soon will be.
I want a harder ride for cornering.

Dave,

Yeah I know what you mean. 18x8 is a decent size... I would like that too and 18x9 for the rear... problem is they either don't have that size or they don't make it for the SX or it's too friggin' expensive!!! GRRRRR!!!

Anyway awesome ride, looks low even without lowering springs!

I think they do Masitaly VR5 and Kahn RS-S in 18`s (9inch wide at back too i think)
17inch Technomagnesia TM7
TSW Eurace
OZ leggerra
Kosie snipers
I think they found these all to fit but didn`t have them in stock. The first 2 being the biggest sizes
You want to go to a performance store and get them on finance.
I`m self employed no accounts and they gave me £1000.

Dave and TC,

Glad to hear you like the S14a, I lurve mine, even more now I have cleaned it http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
It is such a fun car to drive, has a suprising amount of power and has very funky tuning parts to Blitz, HKS, Trust etc...

Dave, Nice wheels. Need to get some new ones myself, but want more power first http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

5-1 ! Result!

JB I can't believe you actually like automatics! The only time I like driving one is when I am feeling extremely lazy, hungover or have a really sore left leg!
What is the point? Fine for limmos but a sports car?

What was the cure to the stuck window by the way?

dave mca,

Do you have pics of those 18" Masitaly and Kahn rims or a website/url?

I'd like to have a look at them.

I don't think the shops over here do financing. It's either cash, or nothing at all... f#rkers grrrr http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

The Kahn are quality they`re £193 each and if you get a close up of them you`ll see they are something special.
