Just found an interesting website:
www.tuningshop.co.uk (http://www.tuningshop.co.uk)

They sell interior decor kits for the S14 which replace the black plastic bits round the stereo and heater controls etc...

Hmm, doesn't seem to expensive at 83 quid, but they're picture is a little bit difficult to make out isn't it ?

The pictures are hard to make out, perhaps they do a catalogue?

It's got to be better than the standard plastic bits in there already, carbon effect might look good?

Yeah, the standard stuff does have the toyota corolla look about it to some degree. Don't think I'll be going for the wood effect somehow, it would end up looking like a rover 400 or something http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

Definetley wouldn't go for wood effect, you'd have to get the tartan rug for the back seats and start smoking a pipe!

I saved the decor picture and enhanced the colour, it even includes the bit of plastic around the gearstick. Not bad for Ģ83?

Hmm, nice ! You didn't spot a 1945 hardback copy of the AA manual on the parcel shelf next to a fine collection of pipes..

I've been toying with the idea for a while now to replace those bits of trim with brushed aluminium effect. I saw a s14 in US mag which had it done, it looked really nice. It cost about 180 bucks I think, but that was for complete replacement panels. I have the feeling that what the guys here are flogging is probably premoulded sticky back plastic. I phoned the company a couple of hours ago to ask, but they were engaged. If it is stick-on stuff it inevitably looks naff (especially when it starts peeling around the edges on a hot day). Carbon effect sounds nice to start with but I think it would end up looking too Nova.

S14, logbook says emerald, actually dirt coloured.

Geoff

the brushed aluminium sounds nice. Where can you get the bits?

Paul,

Good question. I was looking through my magazines in the weekend trying to find the article I mentioned, but couldn't track it down. I did find a picture of an s14 done out in the same way but in carbon, which looked a bit naff. I'm going to check out the bits from the tuningshop guys as soon as they decide to answer the phone. I think all the options are just glue-on bits, which makes me a bit cautious, as these can look tossy. I'd really like to see an example in the flesh.

200sxer is a member of this bb, and has been making these for some considerable time :) However, I believe it is more a hobby/sideline for him - ie, they are made to order - he's not a company that can churn out loads

Any prospective group buys have to be run past a mod first :)

looks the same product that giacuzzo sells. I ordered once one of their products, the aluminum one, but itīs not actually any replacement unit. Itīs like 2-3mm thick elastic plastic with glue background so youīll just glue it over the original trim. After I had ordered mine and received it, I checked it a while, then returned it without installing and painted my interior trims.

If you have seat warmer switches on the trim that goes around gear stick the this item will not fit. At least the one I ordered did not fit

PLEASE DONT BUY ANY OF IT. I had a kit for my last car it cost me 80 quid and it came from the states. Part of the kit didnt fit the vents right and it dont really stick to good i hated it :furious: . Best advice get the pannels you dont like off the car and get them sprayed professionally.
