View Full Version : Ace Cafe meet
Have been going to the Ace Cafe meet for the past few months, its a really good vibe, but there are not enough sx's there so have to park around the corner somewhere! come on guys try to make it next time, good place to attract people to the Reading meet(Michael). Its held on the first Tuesday of every month.
;)
The RS lot where up there the other night and around 12 of them got their cars clamped and was £120 to remove them  Parking is supposed to be a mare
 what a shame.
I have been going and have had no problems, the first tuesday is dedicated to everything Japanese so everythings o.k , parking is a bit crap but always managed to squeeze it in somewhere. Last month they had the midnght club R33, well sweet, have you ever tryed going on the Tuesday?:)
might go up next time funds alowing.
does your mates go with?
and like you said would be a good place to meet people and get them to come to the reading meet:D
Pm me the details like time and place and i will let you know if i can go:thumbs:
Shall we do a mass invasion next month then?
Im up for that.
Here we go!! finally someone with some sense, how close are you to Park Royal mate? I am about 30-40 mins away.
How long do you think it will take you to get down there? it's just off of the Hanger Lane roundabout?
Usually kicks off around seven.
COME ON PEOPLE!!
We need more cars than this.
Thats good mate, lets wait for more peeps to pick up on this thread then we will take it from there.
I live quite close to park royal, take me about 15 mins to get there. I'll be up for it.:)
Nice one, try to make it for around seven thats when parkings good. ;)

Are people planning to meet sumwhere before going to the Ace or is it just meet there??
I think if we meet there it would be better and easier, Around seven sounds good.

so meeting there at 7pm yeah? yeah i'll try to get there so we can try to take over the car park :D
Yes mate will meet there at seven, are you o.k for directions? if not am gonna go past heathrow along the M4 anyway so can meet up somewhere along the way.

26-10-2003, 21:55
i'm pretty sure i know where it is I see it when i goto Ikea, but i'm not too sure how to get to it
where would be easy for me to meet you?
Hmmm let me think.... hows about if you get onto the M4 and then get off at junction 3 bear left towards the A312 and pull over on the laybay, I will meet you there at about 18:45 or can meet you in the Toby carvery car park which is just off juction 5 (Langley and Colnbrook) on the A4. Or if you know of an ideal place let me know.

Well I actually live in Hayes, but Heathrow is more know to people I think, I can meet you on the A312 as its about less than a mile from my house.
Where abouts should i stop for you to meet me?
I can meet at the Toby carvery as I do know where that is too, but if its easier to meet on the A312 we could meet there, I'm guessing your following it down to the A40?
Matt
Yes mate I am going to Jump on the A40 from the Target roundabout, so there is no point you driving back down into Langley, if we meet on the Laybay as soon as you come off the M4 on the left, or the Toys r us car park.
Matty2Fatty
27-10-2003, 12:15
toys r us by western internation market would be best as i live about 5 minutes from there, shall we say meet in the Toys r us car park at 18.45?
Sweet, see you there.
Sounds good.
I live just up the A40 in Little Chalfont. :)
I was also thinking this would make a good general greater london meeting spot since while not exactly central, it's a very suitable venue.
Your right there, I was reading the other thread about the need for a London meet, I dont see the point personally of holding another meet in the area because of the Ace Cafe, purely because this is a pre selected location and it is really hard finding a suitable place in and around central, so it takes the headache out of things, you can just turn up and chill.
Looking forward to seeing you there pal.
But if most folks want or prefer to hook up at 'ace' cafe then who am I etc..
Basically would be cool to turn up and meet loads of you in one go. Except I have a horror of getting clamped and tickets and stuff..
And I have heard some horror stories about there too!
If anyone is up for it, maybe some of us from Central Central London could hook up at the Texaco garage on the Chiswick roundabout beforehand?
...
I still think a central central London meet would be cool - and definitely in Summer at Hyde Park!
Absolutely nothing wrong with a variety, it's just that hyde park is a bit passed it's best this time of year.
Next summer it's a definate though :)
The girls will have so much choice of cars to be picked up in. Better get polishing!
I still think a central central London meet would be cool - and definitely in Summer at Hyde Park!
I am not against that idea mate in fact its a good idea, but only if everything is planned properly and the weather is right, there is over eight months to plan, so in the mean time Would love to see everybody at the Ace Cafe, I have been going for about four months now and never had a problem with parking, or the clamping and ticket dudes.
If you cant make it to the Ace Cafe, the Reading meet is a must :D
Try to make it mate the more the merrier
what sort of 200sx turn out is there usauly:wave:
Since I have been going have only ever seen no more than about four, each visit, out of about 200+ish cars that turn up. But sometimes I do go at silly times.

hi all,
this tuesday night a load of us will be goin to the Jap car meet at Aces Cafe, Norf london off the a406
Starts at around 7pm until midnight. Is mostly busy between 8pm and 10pm. We will prob get there at around 9pm ish.
See you all there.
cheers Lex
I most likely sha'n't make it.
My rear right-hand tire (an avon zz1) blew out yesterday on the way to sunday lunch of all things.
I'm now pricing some goodyear f1s from tyresonline.net but I certainly won't have them fitted by tommorow night. I don't want to take the spare anywhere near a motorway, let alone a car meet. );
It's a shame as I was really keen to come, but nevermind.. always a next time :)
Some take a camera and use it!
Sorry to hear that mate, will be taking the girlfriend and she must have a camera, on her, so will get some pics sorted for you. If there is still a chance for you to make it, try cus it is'nt going to rain. :(
If not you will see me kicking around at the Reading meet, :)

Ohh come on, then i won't be the only one running on 3 alloys & a steelie :) :D
........and it's gonna be dark, when you get there just park it at an angle! come on mate.;)
oh, alright. I'll be off boost all the way and going at 45mph on the 70mph a40.
I'll bring the burst tire along too.. it's quite a marvel.
Good man! will be there for seven, am escorting Matty2Fatty with his single steelie so probably c u on the A40, you wont be hard to miss.
mind escorting me, too ? :)
I'd appreciate it =) the invalid convoy!
I'd be coming from little chalfont.
Thats not a problem mate, do you think I should put my space-saver on, for the occasion?
Where is Little Chalfont?

I've no idea what a space-saver is !
Little chalfont is http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=499506&Y=197686&arrow=Y&zoom=5
a few miles north of the m40. I proppose I meet with you at denham (before the motorway). it's about half a mile off the motorway and I recall there being a garage along that road.
S14a'a are equipped with a dirty skinny little spare wheel, it is half the depth of the standard wheel, and is called a space-saver. If I had a flat, I would rather slap on a steelie!
Anyway we will be joining the A40 from the A312, let us know where we should meet you and we will come to you.

That and S14a is 5 stud & a S13 is 4 stud. (Isn't it?)
yep, the s14a's are 5 stud.
I'll risk the a40 alone to the junction where it meets the A312
It'd be taking the piss to expect you to meet me back down the a40 ! :)
Any suggestion about where to meet there ? leisure centers usualy have suitable car parks but you may know of a garage in the area.
'eres a map of the area around the junction:

Theres a golden arches on that junction, you'll have to come off go all the way round the roundabout & into the car park, i guess we could meet there i guess
Golden arches?? you meen a mcdonalds? that would be a good spot to meet. Do you know the one we meen mate?
yes, the maccie ds here:
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?P2M?P=UB55AW&Z=1
Having just used the maccie ds restaurant locator
What time would be good for you ?
I am meeting up with matty at 18:45 shall we say about 19:00?
Good news!
I called up my local fitment centre about eagle f1 gsd3's in the hopes I could have some fitted by the weekend.
Win! :D :D :D
They have two in the shelf. right now. I'll bend space, time and my boss's arm to come along in a full set of decent wheels (well, apart from the zz1s on the front rims..) tommorow. :)
That is good news, did you get them for a good price? 19:00 good mate?
Matty2Fatty
03-11-2003, 18:06
on second thoughts since neither of you guys really know the McDonalds on that roundabout, the car park system there is a nightmare, there is a B&Q about 200 yards down from that junction heading into london if you wish to meet there? We'll have to go there when we head into london anyway
heres a B&Q locator map if that helps at all
B&Q Map (http://www.diy.com/bq/stores/store_finder3.jhtml?LocName=Greenford&Address1=Western%20Avenue&Address2=&Address3=&Town=Greenford&County=London&PostCode=UB6%208UY&Phone=020%208575%207175&Fax=020%208813%202931&Direction=Leave%20Target%20Roundabout%20onto%20A40 %20towards%20London.%20%20We%20are%20left%20before %20the%20Footbridge.&GardenCentre=Yes&Misc=Free%20kitchen%2C%20bathroom%20and%20conserva tory%20design%20service%2C%20in%20store%20paint%20 mixing%20facilities%2C%20timber%20cutting%20and%20 a%20showroom%20displaying%20kitchens%2C%20bathroom s%20and%20conservatories&StoreType=SUPERCENTRE&Hours_Mon_Wed=08.00-20.00&Hours_Thu=08.00-20.00&Hours_Fri=08.00-20.00&Hours_Sat=08.00-20.00&Hours_Sun=10.00-16.00&Map_Gif=/bq/images/maps/greenfor.gif&Distance=0.0&SearchStr=UB6%208UY&Address=Western%20Avenue)
Yep it is a bit, I go past that Maccys on the way 2 Uni everday and once I went into the car park and ended up on the A40 towards Wycombe. I will be meeting you Matty at Toy,R,us as planned. We just need to get Alex's situation sorted.
Matty2Fatty
03-11-2003, 18:51
yeah still meeting at toys'r'us, just informing Alex that B&Q might be easier
http://www.rf1.netfirms.com/b3ta/woo.gif
My F1s are on :)
Right, so where's easiest to meet ? I see people mentioning both B&Q and Toys 'R' Us :D
Nice job mate, Mattys gonna get a two car escort with his single steelie, think we might need to set up a road block.
You can either drive down to Toys'R'us where Matty will be or you can go and wait at the B&Q, think Mattys supplied a map. I think that the Toy 'R' Us will be a bit out of your way though it's the one near the M4 junction on the A312 But it is easy to find.

03-11-2003, 19:40
Nuts, (looks under his bed for a spare set of alloys, theres gotta be a set round here somewhere)
There is a change of plan, it's looking as if I will be meeting you at 19:30 Matty, so we will meet up with Alex 15mins later, sorry about that. meet kicks at 19:00 anway so we will be fashionably late. (Gotta drop my girlfriend off at home, cus I know she is gonna be nagging me whilst I am there, then I am gonna pick my mates up) Soz guys.;)

okie so 19:45, golden arches., just the other side of the a40 from northolt :)
I'll try be 10 minutes early incase you make good time.
Nice one chaps! see you there. :)
I went and parked at northolt tube this morning. egad! I know now why I do not commute into london by car! And I didn't even try and get *into* london. just to the outskirts(!)
I'd only ever commute if I had a company car or something. Maybe in the back of a bentley. *dreams* big leather seats.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing you tonight :)
See all you guys there! I'll turn up at around 19:45-20:00

Home so soon ! :(
Really good meeting, come to think of it... Better than Box Hill i.m.o. Plenty of pretty cars but it felt like less of a ****athon as there wasn't an almera doing flames for a solid 60 minutes. Just a 300ZX doing them for five - much more impressive :)
I'd have liked to have spoken to some of the japanese drivers there. There were hordes of them. :D They must love the 50s feel of the cafe.
My only worry was that some twit loses control down that strip and bounces around between the parked cars !
Regardless of the weather it was alot of fun and a pleasure meeting you all!
Was brilliant having our 200sxes all lined up :) :D I can't wait to see the piccies.
Last note..
Can anyone recommend an up and coming drift day ? I'm dead keen on coming and learning. :)
Oh and many thanks to Fame for leading me there :) - not to mention the spin for my mate and I.

Hi guys
I`m new to the site here and just got myself at S13 9 days ago.. I also just moved here from another country so i dont know the areas very well and like to meet up with some of you and have a chat or 2.. Can you give me better details on how i can get to Ace Cafe for the next meeting??? I live in Stanmore(Edgware) Area and got told that its not very far from me,its about 30 minutes away from me.. Thanks:thumbs:

theres another grey facelift s13 lurking around amersham/chalfont. an old lady drives it. the boot has half a foot of rust showing near the bolts of the spoiler. I waited around it with my white s13 parked right next to it and she came out, gave me an odd look (I was standing well back, just observing) and drove off. :P

heres a map
http://www.diy.com/bq/images/maps/greenfor.gif
the junction on the left hand side of the picture is where we met last month, so you just go past the junction where macdonalds is and turn off just after the speed camera, before the footbridge, you should see the B&Q its quite big

train to northolt park @ 18:03, 18:17 & 19:01 each takes 13 minutes to reach northholt park, which is 15 minutes drive from the b&q ;)
lucky - 18:03, likely = 18:17 and unlucky = 19:01
super lucky is that a colleague who wants to come along drives me to my car in her mkiv supra. :D

Hey there,
I am new to this thread and ball game but I'm getting the hang of it now.
I have been going to Ace Cafe now for about 6 months and is really good, if you like oogling Jap cars. I go in my S13, somtimes my mate takes his Prelude although lately he just tags along wid me coz he nows whats best.
Anyway enough drivle, I will be there as usual. I am in Herts so it doesn't take long to get there, It will be nice to see some more SX's coz it's usually me and one other (S13) and a few S14's. SO WE NEED MORE!.

nice to meet you both, drift and eyebot, franco and adam respectively. not to mention mintsauce :D
and good to see you again, lasitha - and fud, you should have stuck around a bit longer, I saw you run off within about half an hour
and massive kudos to the 350z club for pulling off such an organised stunt. I was blown away! 7(seven! COUNT IT!) 350zs all pitched up and lined up for a photo shoot at the end. looked absolutely stunning :) Hope to see you come again and again.
eyebot took some pictures with his camera which probabley cost more than his car  I can't wait to see the results :D  - They should be good, he's a photographer by trade :)
all in all, a great night!

i could possibly make it, but its my nephews 10th birthday, so i might make it but also may not make it
pretty sure i can get to the a40 mcd's cause i dont have any idea where ace cafe is i'd need to follow or get some directions before going out and getting lost. :wack:
when we say mcds we are actualy reffering to the car park behind it (between mcds and a texaco garage).
to get to it from the m25, go along the a40 eastbound and come off on the northholt/a312 turnoff.
go right around the roundabout above the a40 and take the last exit (back onto the a40 westbound!) ! then quickly take the first left before going all the way down the onslip (i.e., as soon as you leave the roundabout) and you'll be in the texaco garage. car park infront of you, garage to the right and mcds to your left.
then use your eyes to hunt the *****.
