Anybody know the maximum speed that 5th gear will permit (given enough power) in an s14?

I think its similar to the S13, its possible to get 160mph from an S13 (revs way into the redline :eek http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif.
Yeah, I think it's good for about 160. I had 145 at about 6k revs in 5th once or twice on my private landing strip.
What troubled me about this, was that was indicated, I was probably doing more like 135... so quite how that works out ?
If you work out the gearing, and standard tyre size it should be 160mph.
5th is 0.838:1, final drive is 3.592:1 tyres are 205 55 16... radius is 0.31595m.

You can get various little gearing calculation programs on the web to work this kind of thing out. I used to have a link but I lost it recently... google is your friend http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
