Have a feeling that this may be a fairly common problem on the S14 but my headlamp washers have packed up.
I think it might be the pump as there is no sound when you press the button.
Anybody know whether this is a likely diagnosis?
If so where is the pump is located and what do they cost?
Iam sure the local Nissan dealer will want too much money!

Silly question, but you do have the lights switched on don't you...?

But in answer to your question, the pump is located under the RHS front wing behind the bumper along with the washer bottle.

I thought that it was a shared pump with the windscreen, but could be wrong.

Does the washer only work with the lights on then? I only ever tried them once, on my last s14, the day I sold it and thought I'd see what the button did. It did nothing, so I assumed it was knacked, but I didn't have my lights on.

Yep, headlamps have to be on (not just side lights) as does the ignition.

Looks like it could be a common prob, mine does sweet fanny adams too. Theres a fuse in the relay box under the bonnet for them so check that first. Its a funny looking thing though so even if it is that it'll probably be about £1,000,000 from Nissan. Mine was ok anyway so I'm gonna hunt down the motor at the weekend.

Mine doesn't work either
After checking the fuse, the usual thing to to before replacement is get a friend to push the switch, check for a feed. If that's OK, give the pump some 'percussive maintenance' - whack it hard with the power on. Keep hitting it lots in the hope it may start. Works wonders with screen washer pumps and may work for you!

Yeah, mine doesn't work either !
Someone I met at tube torque told me he replaced a pump in the washer tank and got his working again. I had no idea the lights had to be on either !

I was told that my pump controller had failed and it was £50ish for a new one.

But it started working the day after they had played with with it.

I had a look under the washer bottle and found that my pump was connected via non-shielded bullet plugs (Strange....)

I had the same problem so I stuck my arm through the air scoop in the bumper and wiggled a little black thing and now they work.
I would suggest that the worst place for an electrical connector is down in the bottom of the engine bay where it's going to get all soggy.

Well, mine have never worked although the button does seem to make an 'activating' noise. As for the MOT, Nissan have always done mine and they have never stipulated that they must be working.

Mine packed up once too, turned out to be a corroded wire, if you look through the gap to the side of the fog light on the drivers side you should be able to see, well I could anyway, saw the wire had snapped from the connector.

Hope this helps,

Dave.
