Has anyone upgraded their exhaust system and kept the original back box?

My back box is knackered and I need a 2nd hand one to get me by until I've got the money for a Blitz system.

Cheers.

I've kept mine when I swapped it for a Blitz backbox, just in case I can't pass Belgium's equivalent of your MOT.

Does anyone know how loud a Blitz exhaust is? Not the catback system though...

Blitz exh. + HKS power flow + standard boost = ...dB?

Anyone? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Have you tried that aluminium exhaust tape you can get from halfords? It may be able to hold it together for a couple of weeks.... possibly, if you don't put your foot down.

BTW TC, I was reading you are not allowed to do any engine mods whatsoever in France, or else you'll get nicked. Is that just gay or what?? Is Belgium the same?

Technically speaking, we're not allowed to change anything at all. By law, it's forbidden to modify anything at all... but in real life they do allow for quite a bit, as long as you don't change any braking bits or don't swap your engine.

Simple addons like an exhaust, airfilter are allowed though, unless they really want to screw you over. Lowering is allowed as well as long as your car passes their tests. Starting this year, they are going to restrict the size of your rims to the standard size (16" in our case). Which means you can't have nice rims unless you swap them each time before you go to your MOT (which is what I'm planning to do).

What it boils down to is that you're subjected to the MOT's tester's mercy. If he's in a good mood, then you can get away with a lot... if he's in a bad mood, then you're F@CKED :P

That sucks HUGE donkey balls m8. It costs me the bloody earth to insure my damn car, but as long as I'm willing to pay I can do whatever the hell I like to it. Maybe I should come live over there.....might save me some cash....!!!

Far too many mods to list here, it takes up far too much space and after being asked very nicely I've decided to shorten the sig (Is that a WOOHOO I hear??)
I, have NO SMELLY TREE, have no plans for a smelly tree and do not want a smelly tree, EVER!!!
Do not take offence to anything I say, even though I probably mean it. I am more than slightly mad, so just chill de feck oooot, ok!

You could phone around a few scrappies.

Or find out how much the Blitrz back box is, provided you can add the catback bit at a later date?

But that may be best to do when you know what the score is with work.

The blitz system is loud, but does come with a bung that apparently quietens it down a bit, without reducing performance too much.

The Blitz back box is £300, I'll try and source a standard box 2nd for now.

What do you know about the Blitz front pipe? It's only £150 but I'm not sure if it goes from the Turbo to the CAT or what?

Just send a mail to www.intapart.co.uk (http://www.intapart.co.uk) enquiring about a price for a back box.

They've got a burgundy S14 in stock, just trying to think if I need anything else?

I've still got the original off of my '97 s14a. Its a bit rusty but it doesnt leak. If you wanna come and get it you're welcome to it. I'm in north kent, near the dartford tunnel.

Sorry, only just noticed your offer.

I may pop round and take it off your hands some time.

I take it hasn't got any holes or major rust?
