What sort of pressure will the S14 actuator handle?

I have been sticking washers between the mounting plate and turbo. I have about 4mm of em on now, but I am still only hitting 8-9psi.

Is the actuator just weak on these?

Nath.

On Sr20 s13's and i assume S14's the actuator line is plumbed after the IC, unlike the ca18 models where it is attached to the turbo outlet. The drop of pressure over the (std) ic makes the difference.
The 2 actuators have different spring rates.

Hi,
Could this explain why I measure slightly less boost than some people ? I can only get 0.5 bar at the intake manifold, but the pressure might be quite a lot higher before the IC ? Confusing the way pressure, density, temperature, volume etc. are all linked. It's not immediately obvious to me how you design an IC which can drop the temp but keep the pressure constant !!

I increased my boost the cheap and nasty way by inserting a T piece in the actuator hose and bleeding some air off, setting up with a boost gauge and adjustable valve from a fish tank
Seems to work rather well
