Hi just registed!

Got my car in march and found it was running rich 7%co @3000rpm found it to be dodgy thermostat, changed it and thought that was it. Until i put on a T25 hybrid and a moongoose on!. Now all the back of the car is covered in black soot!. I thought that the lamber sensor would adjust the mixture its self, cant b that at fault as it was replaced at the mot before i bought the car. Anybody got any ideas?

Cheers Graham

As your clearly one of the gifted few, they run rich on boost to keep the temp down, the soots very common. You can get it off with wd40, piece of p1ss(wax it afterwards)

Just reading your other post, my car is a 91 catted lamda thing albeit I've removed the cat...Does that mean my ECU is different from yours?

Why dont you just get one from the breakers? I fecked up mine trying to fit a Stage 1 chip.. cost me £60.. job done. I think they all seem to work in my car (late '91). The new one I got was from a '92 car. As long as it came from a car without a Cat, I dont think I matters..

I do have a spare one, but its my 'standard' chip version, just incase I sell or do something silly.. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

It could be the fuel pressure regulator, if it is setting the pressure too high then the ecu can't force the injectors to run leaner, get a fuel pressure check done, it should be 1.96bar/28psi @ idle, or it could be a dirty airfilter or air flow meter.
