I have about £350 to spend so what shall I go for, a nice shiny mongoose or a nice intercooler. The mods so far K&N and the stage 1 chip. I have the boost upgrade but it's not safe to fit it yet, possibly after one of these mods.

Definately the Mongoose. A bigger intercooler wont really do much at this stage. It wont allow you to run with higher boost because if the exhaust is still standard (and restricting) there isnt any where for the increased exhaust, which comes from increased boost and fuel, to go. If you ran the higher boost this will increase the exhaust temp which will cause all sorts of problems with your engine.

And we dont want that.

I've got a mongoose (exhaust-not fluffy thing) and when I fitted it I had to cut off a rear towing eye because it was fouling.

Thats odd. I have a mongoose and a lowered car and have not had any fitment or grounding problems at all...

Mongoose (for reasons stated by Steve)- for the awsome sound, if nothing else.

Cheers you bloody nice chaps. On the basis of your replys I took a trip down Halfords and found a rather sexy mongoose £327 including fitting, bloody marvelous I thought, so I bought it. Would it be safe to put the boost upgrade back in once the zorst is fitted?

You know it's a shame that we couldn't get a group buy on some of these... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif

Go and stick all your go faster bits on, it'll all be safe with the exhaust letting it all run properly.
With the boost up to 15psi you should be looking at 200bhp.

Have fun. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
