are you sure your accelerator cable isnt crudded up on the manifold making it stick?

stranger things have happened.

If you're idling too fast and the idle screw's all the way in (you don't say whether it is) it could suggest the ACC solenoid's not workng properly. It could be jammed open with carbon. Might be worth pulling it apart and cleaning it. Watch the lil' spring when you get it off. WD40's a good solvent for the crap. If the solenoid i mucky you might decide you want to clean the whole idle valve assembly....you'll need two new gaskets after that probably or a tube of instant. And then cleaning that **** might encourage you to clean out the cam cover breathers and the cam covers themselves. Once you get the bug for hunting carbon crud it's endless. And don't forget while you've got the breathers off you can check the pcv valve's working OK. God almighty is there no end to it.

The idle screw is all the way in, What is that ACC thing and where is it?

Idle speed is controlled through the adjustment of the amount of air which bypasses the throttle valve via the IACV/AAC valve. The IACV/AAC valve cycles on/off according to a signal from the ECU.
The ECU gets its info from the cam position sensor and so varies the cycle of the IACV/AAC to get the desired idle speed.
The valve is above the inlet manifold on mine right on top on a bracket (level with no. 3 cylinder)

Also have a look at Dodgers "Ropey idle cured - thanks" thread

Sorted http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif Changed the ACC valve (This one had a spring in it) It now ticks over at 850RPM http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
