Dump valve questions

Hi all, just fitted my dump-valve on Friday. Bailey motorsport EVO one. It seems to work great ie. scares cats and dogs when you change gear near them, oh and small children.

I got a few questions,

1. I didn't use the tee piece supplied in the kit as there was a spare vacuum nipple right next to the throttle butterfly, so I just took the cap off and used that one, anyone else use this one ?

2. The diaphragm is open at idle, is this normal ?

If anyone is interested, I got it from R-tec, who Bailey motorsport supply for £124 inc. fitting kit.

the nipple is fine, can also split into it to run a boost gauge from there. and the valve is normally open at idle.
