Headlights

I just went in to my local Nissan dealer to get a new head light bulb for my S13 and they told me the head light was a sealed unit and it would cost £55! All I need is a bulb any idea where I can get one and can I fit it into the "sealed unit"?

Nissan dealers talking b0ll0cks again.

I changed a bulb in my S13 with no problem.

Cost about £4 from any high street motor spares shop.

You need to pop the headlights up, unscrew the 2 screws either side of the headlight and pull off the black plastic surround, then unscrew the 2 bolts/screws either side and remove the metal headlight cover (the body colour one).

You should then be able to get at the rear of the headlight. Pull off the rubber cover and its a piece of p1ss from there.

Don't think I've ever heard such crap and if I'd been told that by a dealer then I'd be contacting Nissan UK and my local trading standards.

God knows what else they try to rip people off over.

When I had my first S13 I asked the dealer to price for replacing the turbo / manifold gasket.

Bloke with a clipboard comes out, wanders round looking like he was the bloke that discovered nuclear fission and then says '300 quid, might be 150'!

Which, in Nissan Dealer speak, means 300 quid!

I had a long hard think for 1 second and thought 'f*ck that'.

Went to my trusty garageman and he did a Mutts Nuts job for, all in, £72.00!

Nissan dealers have as much clue about the 200 as my Mum has about time travel (and no, she doesn't work for NASA http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif).
