Screechy fan belt?

Alrite peeps,

After my new engine has been put in, it still smokes at idle which I'm hoping will be put right 2moro, but another problem is a nasty screaming noise whenever I start the car up when its cold. It seems to disappear after a few minutes, but occasionally screeches when I'm changing down a gear. Is this a slipping fan belt? or summat else?

my car used to make a screechy noise when cold,i found out it was the small flywheel bearing bush thingy.its where the end of the gearbox shaft goes into the flywheel theres a small bush thats what was squeeking took me ages to find it and now the new one is starting to do it,icant see its going to hurt if you keep driving,my advice is to ignore it until you need a clutch change and do it then.sorry if this doesnt make sense ive got a hangover
