Anyone had a turbo reconditioned/bearing s repalced recently? How much did it cost? I don't really want to pay £450 for getting it re-conned. Also, on the off-chance, any idea how much it should cost to get a valve replaced?

Cheers

I paid about 300 for a full rebuild on my T25 (removed and refitted myself).

my heads in an acid bath as we speak (cylinder head that is), took it off this weekend thinking i had badly seating valves, nightmare job compared to my birds corsa sri i did the week before, only to find that it needs rings aswell, thankfully should get away without needing to rebore it though.

anyway i've got a ballpark figue of around £180 to replace two valves, stem seals, etc. through a mate, so i'd say add vat to that for a rough guide

by the way that includes head gasket/bolts/replacement oil and filter, unless he has to go direct to nissan in which case it may be a little dearer

The valves themselves are about £15+vat each.

depending on how confident you are at stripping things down. You could rebuild the turbo yourself for peanuts. The urls below has a list price for a t3 rebuild kit for $129 obviously shipping will add to it.

Just a thought.

or you could get the adapter kit bits and bobs (about £200) and drop lucky on a cheap T3 and kill two birds with one stone. Nifty turbo and a kick in the back as you put your foot down. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/cool.gif
