I don't think its really worth buying uprated discs for the rear, just get some standard discs and some fastroad pads, its best to concentrate on the fronts due to them having to work harder due to wieght transfer. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

I agree with paul, stay standard at the rear. I have uprated the fronts and it is more than adaquate, the rears dont do much apart from when your on your handbrake anyway, save those pennies for some serious front stoppers.

Right you have the later model s13 which means you have the bigger disks so thats a good start, I run Black diamond groved and drilled which I find perfect but some others dont seem to as they say they wear theyre pads to quick, but Ive been running them since last september and there's still plenty of meat left on the pad, try running greenstuff pads and get some braided brake hoses, after all that you may as well run dot5 synthetic fluid as well. this is probably the most important upgrade that you can do. cant remember the name of the guy that does the track days but he should be a bloody expert on stoppers hammering his car like that. Failing that a length of chain and an anchor work well http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif

Im the guy who does trackdays :-)

I've got the 300zx conversion but as you dont want to do that I'd go for Greenstuff pads and std disks. I found that (on the track at least) grooved disks really munched up the pads. Having said that, on the road they may be fine. Depends mainly if you want them to have the cool drilled grooved look behind your wheels. Green stuff pads are excellent for fast road use but if you plan to do trackdays get something a bit harder like Mintex M1155 compound.

Hope that helps.

Sorry Jez for forgetting your name, I knew there was some nutter out there that liked to thrash the balls of his motor, as a matter of intrest hows she taking the hammering? have you had any major problems at all? go for it beamish stick some tornado stoppers on her, I used to sit at conigsby and watch those buggers take of and land, noisey aint the word, I also saw the last take off of the vulcan and the car nearly vibrated to bit's. he stuck on the anchors and gave it some throttle, my god what a noise. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

No probs nath.
The only engine mods I've done are exhaust, K&N, boost and Unichip. Seems to take trackday abuse quite well. Engine temp stays right in the middle of the guage. Gets through rear brake pads very quick though - no one does a hard compound. Getting mintex to make some up for me soon-ish.

I love doing the trackdays - Im usually pretty quick - can keep up with unmodified Escort cosworths and fly past Elises and my mates TVR without too much trouble. Got whiped by an Evo 6 in the wet at Goodwood though...
