View Full Version : 5th Injectors
how does that all work then? I see you have one stuymac. Whats the crack with them?
Basically it gives the engine more fuel by spraying fuel in to the inlet manaflod rather than the cylinders.
I was ment to write a thingy about it for Dave for the site, but havnt had a chance yet, so heres the short explanation of how it works, thoughn it may still be quite long http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/rolleyes.gif
You need - Injector (One that volvos use for cold start is great - £2 http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif, and an MF2 fuel controller £200 http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif This has a pressure sensor, and effective rpm can be altered.
You drill 2 holes in the inlet manafold, one for the injector (as close to the butterfly as poss), and one for the pressure sensor. Connect all the wires up correctly (thats the hard bit) You then really need to get it set up - RR is best.
Mine starts firing fuel in to the inlet when the inlet pressure is >=15psi and rpm >=4500.
So driving round normally, and it is never used, but open the car up and you have extra fuel to prevent pinking and detonation, OH yeah, you also get a lovely lick of yellow flames on lift off when the zorst is hot http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
Stu
the flames thing sounds uber sexy, and in all honesty is probably all i would use it for http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
the first bit (£2) sounds great. THe £200 quid bit sounds not bad. The drilling the inlet manifold is the boggly bit. Dunno if I would undertake that job.
