Hi all,

I've got a horrible knock from the front nearside suspension, it happens somtimes on full lock and also if I brake suddenly, any ideas?

I had a look at the lower arm balljoint and I couldn't get any movement out of it. I phoned Nissan to see how much a new lower arm was and it was £104 + the dreaded VAT!

I hate Nissan somtimes!

I have heard it a few times on mine, like a heavy "clunk" but not violent, just asif something has popped into or out of place.

It happens very rarely to me but i know what yer saying, i noticed it while coming to a stop too. I have remedied the problem by turning my stereo up.

I have no idea where it comes from, but you aint alone. :)

check the 2 19mm bolts holding the shocks on.

When driving hard sometimes they can come loose.
mine did one day. could work out what it was till i took my wheel of and found out they were slightly loose.##however it could be something else though. i maybe wrong

also when was the last time u guys checked your rocker cover bolts - the ones with the phillips head? check em. any money you might find their loose.

i just thought i'd check mine the other day b4 the run upto santa pod. all of em needed tightening.

I checked mine on saturday as well and 4 of them needed tightening, thats the 2nd time this year, I think I might use some thread lock to keep them tight at the weekend.

I get this on my car. On my car it is simply the spring jumping as the strut moves round. the spring either catches or jumps back into its seat. not sure which but its definitely that. If you get someone to rotate the steering while you watch youll see it happpen. very reassuring once youve watched and will put your mind at rest. I have new dampers and lowered springs which were on the car when i bought it and put it down to that. might be a more common problem though. good luck
