yes this just got very interesting, I think a new pump wouldnt go amiss on mine, along with an injector clean. I thought pumps were mega bucks.

I bought one from SE recently. £180. Fits straight on and supplies enough feul for my 288bhp :-)

I just ordered my pump from S & E Motorparts
The guy there Mark - did me an offer. So I'll pass it on.
£165 inc vat & delivery. Supplies enough fuel for 400bhp+ ( I doubt if most of us are gonna top that)

A 2.0 Cossie one will run a cossie up to about 380bhp, plenty for what I wanted.

A few slight mods are needed, but they are very very simple and even I fitted mine myself.

Basically you need to straighten a fuel line on the fuel pump bracket (simple), cut a hole in the rubber at the bottom of the bracket (simple), and zip tie the fuel pump to the bracket so it is secure. Took me about 30 mins - dead easy.

The only drawback is the cosworth fuel pumps where external on the car and can get dirty, I think it took me about 1 hour to clean it up so it was clean enough to go in the tank.

oh gash.. the pump is IN the tank??!

hmm, starting to look like a big job.. :(

OI, CHIMP, NOOOOoooooooo! Its an easy job. Even a capuchin monkey can do it, so a superior ape such as yourself will find it easy.:-)
Pull up the boot carpet on the drivers side and you'll see a plate on the boot floor. Undo the 4 bolts and remove it. Under that is the top of the fuel tank. Again another 4 bolts, undo them and unplug the wiring loom. You can now gently lift up the plate which has the fuel pump hanger attached to it.
The whole job, start to finish, only takes 30 mins.

i heard it wasnt wise to use cossie pumps
but then again i may be wrong

u can get em from any ford motorsport pump. i was gonna get one, but wasnt too sure about the psi rating and flow pe hour

ideal pump is a bosch motorsport pump flowing 240 l per hr and 7bar

i spoke to Bosch the other day and they qouted about 4/5 different models, all different applications depending on power output

Any idea on bosch prices?
StuyMac: have you got any more info on your cossie pump? Did you have to alter the fuel pressure regulator at all?

I got My pump from a rally spares place by me, payed £40, but it needed a damn good clean up.

Im currently in the process of fitting an adjustable fuel regulator, but Im running a 5th injector so demand for fuel is a little higher (Nice flames tho ;o))

The Cossie Pump is a Bosch part (can get the part number for you tomorrow if needed), and the pump is about 25% bigger than the std pump.

Buzzes a bit when the ignition is turned on, but does its job OK.

Hi Guys, here in Australia a simple and cheap replacement is a pump from a Holden Commodore, either a VL ( they had a RB30ET in em) or from later models VN-VS. I used a NA Commodore pump from Goss PN GE033 as i think it will suffice. Here is a cool page that shows the required info

http://www.users.bigpond.com/webspace/180sx/pumps.htm

and here is the home page as Martin doesn't seem to put home buttons on his pages

Have fun guys

hehe.. okay so it doesnt look too scary of a job, i dont think i ever did any job on the car without a ciggy dangling from mouth though. I guess that better change..

Its now on the "must do" list, and it keeps getting bigger.

Chimp It's also a good idea to clean your boot out before you start, you dont want to spend 4 hours with a magnet on some string fishing out all those bolts that you accidently knocked into the tank.

Chimp

heheh.. what do you take me for??? some kind of pillock??!

<makes a mental note, clean the boot>
