How long does it take to get from Norwich to one of the A14 Meets?
I know some are coming from Norwich, so perhaps a meeting place at Norwich?

Balkern Gate.
Wherever that is in Colchester, I know of Tesco @ Highwoods and near the Hythe or am I assuming we are meeting at a Supermarket? Or is the one near the Hythe referred as Balkern Gate??
How about the Tesco's in Maldon I know where that is ;)

If you come into Colchester as if heading towards Highwoods then the Balkerne Gate is the first pub you see after getting off the A12, about 100yds from the roundabout on your right, opposite the BMW garage.

Are you jealous or summat mate?
ASh, you know its gonna be    when we see a straight long enough for me to shout "Full Steam Ahead" to "The Engine Room" - just hope we have a tail wind, to aid the aerodynamic deficiencies that I have aquired with the SilEighty front...
Ill be there - Balkerne Gate. If I aim for 11:30, I should just make it by 12:30. Not that my car is that slow, just that I always run late;)

Can I ask that everyone in the convoy makes sure their cars are fuelled up before the trip. If everyone waits until the meet up points it will take forever and a day to get to Billing.

I think the majority of us are camping. Its about £15 or so to camp for the weekend, I guess around £30 in fuel and then whatever you want to spend on food and drink.

Youre not really concerned are you? Dont worry, there will be other ladies there to keep us in control.:)
You can book a hotel if you want but I hav a feeling that most places local will be booked up already and you'll miss all the fun of drinking till stupid-o'clock in the morning.:D

This will be the sixth year that some of us have gone, its my fifth of staying over for the two nights. After nearly falling asleep at the wheel on the way home on Sunday afternoon previously, Ive now taken to booking the Monday off work aswell as the Friday.
If I need it, I can stay over on Sunday night aswell.
Just a bit of advice...
how do we feel about inviting the zeds onto the convoy?
Martin T

Don't worry if SE get my engine back together by then I'll be going in my Zed, although I'll be joining the other people who are running their engines in, at the back of the convoy.
i'll be at tesco's in pitsea aswell to join the convoy so add me to the list please m8.
r we going the long way so we have a convoy? cause according to autoroute from pitsea to greatbilling its only 93.7 mile's
which go's around the m25 then m1 and i recon we could do it in 2 hours at the most.
Yep long way mate;)
A12 up to Colchester then up to Ipswich, then A14 across:D:D:D

Ok, just to add this......
This is a Convoy, not a race to Billing. Some of us will (hopefully - Steve can you find a praying smiley) be running there engines in. So lets do the decent thing and stick around for them and make it a proper convoy. :)

I may run late on purpose then ;)
That means I wont have to go 65 all the way and can actually use the right pedal for what is meant for - scaring the ass out of peeps:D
PS - Ash, did you get the SR20 clutch fitted in the end!?! LMFAO @ that one...
What time do you expect to arrive @ Billing? Also what road are you going into Billing on? There is the A428, A508 or the motorway. My thoughts are that we could meet up with the Hungry***** somewhere at about 2ish with myself, Keith, SKIDZ and join in the convoy...

Read my post in the S13 Technical section. Bob told me it was an SR clutch, Pete has since told me it isn't, but it is a 240mm clutch plate that was in it.
P.S. Turn up late and we won't wait for you :p

I think it's much much more fun if the convoy sticks under 80mph and stays as a group. When 1 or 2 people blast off into the distance it becomes a straggle and not a cool convoy :)

Which is what some people did on the way back last year, when they knew I had a dodgy engine :( ;)
But I can't fault them, cos I wouldn't have had an engine and would not have got my car to Billing. :) :D Big up you guys for helping a fellow member out. You know who you are :notworthy

FAO: anyone in colchester on this convoy.
Since there is now absolutely no chance my car will be ready in time:cry: I shall be taking my van to billing.
It can carry up to a 600kg payload, so if you got something you want to take but cant due to the fact that 2hundies have no space whatsoever, then I will most likely have space for your stuff in the back. Maybe gazebo's, tents etc, nothing oily like engine or car bits
