Now i read apost saying how 215/40 and 204/40 will fit fine on the wheels, without touching the arches, but wil 215/45s? I wanna get this size, cos I have 215/40s, and our good 'ol Reading roads suck! Spend most my time suerving potholes and stuff....
Any help would be ssssssssssssssplended!!

I run 215/45/17's on my S13. The speedo goes out by about -5 mph at 80 mph (you're reading 80, but actually doing nearer 85 on a 15 inch wheeled car, tested with SteveCarter100 alongside)- therefore your speedo loses some of it in-built inaccuracy. It just means you have to abide by the speed limits a bit more closely, but you get used to it.
Also, if you un an MSTT or something which relies on a speed signal, you'd probably be better off calibrating it on a set of rollers, or standard wheels!
The ride is slightly better than with 40 profiles, but the tramlining is still there (I run a ET35 offset - makes for better looks!
Hope this helps.

I have just swapped from (old) 215/40/17 to 215/45/17
The ride is MUCH more enjoyable (I've springs and konis fitted)
I don't feel a bump anymore, when I drive over a cigaret http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
No - seriously. Get them, they are better.
Even concerning the speedo.
Because if you calculate the diameter of the wheels with tyres.. the 215/40 s are smaller than factory.
215/45 is nearly standard diameter

Its when your steering follows the lines (dips where wheels have worn down tarmac) in the road.
Hope this is right! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
