ND Stage 1 chip

Will be getting my stage 1 chip soon (nice one Paul) and was wondering if anyone has had one fitted by ND or another place, if so how much did it cost to have it fitted?

I had mine fitted at Nd (not by nd though) it cost 10 quid. Was over a year ago though.

I had my socket fitted up the road from ND in Calne - £10. Any electronics replair shop should be able to do it. It's not that difficult if you've got a solder sucker...

Hey Bond_200, after you get the chip fitted crank the boost up to 15 - 16psi and get it rolling roaded, with your K&N and Mongoose system your bhp go a shade above 200bhp http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

You will need to buy a bleed valve or a adjustable actuator to increase the boost.

Another thing make sure you get it in a socket, not soldered, as you might have to change it back to get it through the mot.

I was planning to do the boost upgrade soon, but my money situation wont permit it at the mo. can u remember what company in Calne fitted the chip for you Jez?
I only live bout 10 mins away so might just take it there.

Only been to Calne the one time but I think the electronics place was on the main road though Calne (A4???). Fitted by a very odd bloke called Pete (or might have been Dave) the shop also sold car stereo stuff and was in a group of about 4 shops. If you phone ND they'll give you better directions...

Any car stereo repair place and install a chip with ease... I SERIOUSLY would not have a go yourself! I let my 'gun-ho' dad have a go, being an electrical engineer, and he fecked the ECU up! Double sided soldering is a real nightmare unless you have a solder suck like a swedish h**ker!!

When I put my chip in the car it made the turbo delivery much smoother. Before it used to be like an on off switch with that der turbo. Now is smoooooooooth deleivery.. Is this just my car? It seems less powerful too, so it could be fecked.. Hmmm any ideas?

I recently switched from the ND stage 1 to the SE stage 2, I found thst the ND chip made the turbo come in very smoothly, but the SE chip is an on/off switch. The only thing that I can think of that causes this difference is that the ND chip uses alot more fuel than the SE chip, maybe this acts as some sort of anti-lag system.

i noticed the same with my SE2 chip.

How have you found your economny oFF boost. (not that one thinks about it in these cars)

next time u throw a tenner in. reset your odometer and let me know how many miles u get to a tenner.

I get around 55-60. how does that compare?
