I went to have my new shiny upgaded oil feeder pipe supplied by the one and only Norris Designs fitted today but to my horror he told me that it wouldn't fit, he said something about being a different fitting and apparently my original oil feeder pipe is like a metal brake pipe. He looked at my mate's 200 which is the same year (1990)and said that it would fit his!!!!!

Anyone know why this is??

What.....do you think it was just because he couldn't be arsed to do it??
This is what i thought but he showed us and they were different....weird!!
I got the impression that he didn't want to do it anyway cos he kept ranting on about how much work was involved.

What exactly is different between your and your mates car. Has your mates car had a replacement pipe? It cant be anything at the turbo end coz you cant see it. The original oil feed pipe is just a metal pipe that screws into a 90 degree elbow fitting that itself screws into the block. Perhaps your new pipe gos straight into the block so you'd need to remove the elbow.
Apart from that, dunno.

Well i didn't see my mates, and maybe your right, his might have been changed at some time but the bloke at R & M Motorsport put a mirror under mine and it had what looked like a brake pipe. Is this normal??. He told me that the replacement pipe that i had bought wouldn't fit!!!!!.......GODDAMMIT!! :-(

OK right, theres obviously a bit of confusion going on here...

The standard (pre '92) oil feed is a solid piece of 'brake pipe looking' pipe. The later model pipe still looks like a piece of 'brake pipe', but is larger diameter with less nasty bends (someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong).

Is yours braided or something??

Ben, the new pipe that i bought off Mr Norris is braided but the old one is like a "brake pipe".
Is there any reason why the "new" pipe shouldn't fit?

I think i might have a good reason. The standard type screws in the turbo and seals on a cone in it. The braided type uses a banjo and 2 copper washers, so it comes of the turbo at 90 degrees to it. If you compare like to like they do look completly different.
