Hey everyone!!!!

Was never guna put my build in here, was guna just build it an blah, blah, blah!
Oh had a few vodkas so seems like a good idea now:D
Background is- Got a 91 black 13 for good money when my 14a got damaged, used it and abused it, and decided it would be ripe for a project:nod:

So im probobly 3-4 months into the project and told im loosing my storage area by christmas hence why its now gota be an uba quick build:eek:

So shorts of it is- 13 shell with an Sr20DET&box&all running gear inc rear subframe. No interior(done a million times before)etc etc.

Somehow though ive manged too loose all the pics up too this point bar a few:ghey: But hey, theres stack loads off builds going on.

So heres a pic till i find the others:thumbs: Input from you guys is welcome as its on a budget now too:annoyed:
So any ideas will be well recieved..
Oh an im guna do everything myself, bar ali welding and lathe work as a mate of mine works for a machine shop so works out uber cheap that way and easier:D

Right managed to find 1 more pic for the mo!

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00036.jpg

The underside of the shell has been stripped bare and stich welded along the seams, this has also been done inside too. All none required bits of metal have been removed, bracketry etc.

And its all been undercoated with a zinc primer.
That is basically where i am up too now with regards too actual work done

Right made a bit of progress but not as much as i need too....
Thort id best look at the boot lid as it was fairly shot:censored: (theres a suprise)
As the pics show, cut out a fair bit of grotty metal, grafted in some new, bit of filler an hopefully it`ll be tickety boo:wack:

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00093.jpg

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00094.jpg

Also been trial fitting the front end, and chopping out more metal for my front mount instalation. Made a removable slam panel with captive nuts in it.... Should make engine in/outs super quick now:D

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00097.jpg

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00100.jpg

Done cleaning up of suspension parts and rear subframe
Thats about all thats been done:(
Hopefully in the coming week my custom subframe mounts will get made, polybushes will turn up, hopefully it`ll be rolling very soon.

Not managed agreat deal recently:down:... Been busy helping with engine swap an other random stuff

Finished cleaning some suspension bits during the week

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00113.jpg

And got them painted:D
My polybushes turned up, nice clean shinny orange ones

The rear lower arms are 14 items to go with the 14 subframe.
But i had new 13 lower ball joints(well primera ones) which are different to the 14ones:annoyed: So made a sleeve to go in the arm to locate it

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00108.jpg

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00109.jpg

Spotted the sleeve in and pressed in the balljoint, everything seems quite nice and snug

midnight180
16-11-2008, 20:04
Also got my subframe bushes durring the week.
So after an absolute mare drilling them offset, fitting an refitting to test the subframe eventually got it to fit and do up square

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00116.jpg

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00117.jpg

Also gave the underside a good coat off black paint, ready to be stonechipped and waxoiled to keep the nasties away

midnight180
16-11-2008, 20:10
Today.. Managed to get the inside of the car painted and the engine bay painted too. Now it feels like im getting somewhere with it.

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00123.jpg

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00124.jpg

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00125.jpg

Was going too get it rolling before doing the painting but it saved masking stuff up, plus havnt quite finished all the rolling bits yet.

how hard was the s14 subframe to fit into the s13 chassis, was it basically a direct bolt on or did you have to do a bit of modifications, really interested as i have a s14 subframe lieing around

Looking good dude, you should paint her yellow and green and we would have a matching pair. :wack::D

What you planning on doing as far as your front mount goes, got any intresting wheels waiting to go on? Also are you using the s13 or s14 rear camber arms. I know people use s13 arms when they fit the 5 stud hubs but i'd have thought it wouldnt matter when the whole subframe goes in?

The underside of the car is now fully waxoyled. Got no photos- it just looks black and waxy:D

Over the weekend i bolted up the rear suspension parts and dropped the rear onto its wheels. Attached master cylinders. Some front suspension parts and the steering assembly.

Also modified the metal bar behind the dash to allow the 14 dash to fit.
Made it using the 14 centre section and the 13 ends

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00133.jpg

Then started to modify the dash so it would fit. Bearing in mind im also fitting the 14 heater boxes too, ment theres a lot of parts that need to line up so that the heater blows air where required.Got the dash to fit well though and line up with the heater matrix box too. Just got to finish the fan blower box fitting then thats done.

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/oldskooll/DSC00136.jpg

Also started to modify the 14 looms too, mainly started stripping all the unused crap out of them, theres a lot of it too:eek:

The lower arms are supposed to keep the standard metal bush collars, and not remove them.... Looks like you will need to do a bit of fabrication.

nice work mate, be careful with not a lot of flexable joints in your intercooler, you need a few to allow for engine rock, id be tempted to cut the hot side pipe and put a strait connector in there somewhere, the ones with the hump back, that is unless you have some very stiff engine mounts.
