well i sold my old s13 and bought an r32 gts4 skyline with full gtr running gear. i know but it was only 4k with lots of bits on it. well i missed my s13 so much and hated the 4xtoilet on the skyline ive decided to brake the skyline onto another s13. (r32 gts4 rolling shell going cheap)

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b392/richgander/DSC04626.jpg

i bought the new s13 off sxoc got a good price and a good car. ill get some pics up soon.

i then got lucky and my mate blew his r33 gtst up and had no money to sort it. i bought the whole car with a phucked piston for £550. after braking the car for bits ive made my money back and got my gearbox and crossmember of free.

im not going to fit the silly turbo on the s13. (but it is up for sale with the 50mm wastegate) ive bought a garrett gt35r rollerbearing turbo and 50mm hks wastegate. ive sold the apexi power fc and ordered an apexi djetro. the rb26 has 800cc sard injectors, tubular manifold, alloy rad, big 4" fmic, sard fuel pressure regulator and a few more bits.

i found a company in the usa called syko performance . they do all the brackets and mounts to fit the rb26 and rb25 into the s13. $460 delivered. they say the mounts fit the engine lower into the engine bay so the bonnet doesnt have to be cut about. i asked if it would be different as my car is rhd but they assured me they fit. i also ordered the 2 dvds on how to fit the rb25 into the s13 and how to wire it in. (if anyone wants to borrow them once ive watched them your more than welcome).

im just about to rip the engine out the s13 today so ill keep posted on my progress

dontbother with the monuts you were going to get, they are pointless
You still need to use the skyline xmember etc, if you do a search on ebay.com, a company on there does the kit so its a straight bolt in job

In the projects section, 2 guys doing rb20 swaps have used them

gander
24-02-2008, 11:13
im still using the skyline xmember but the mounts they do are. gearbox mounts, rollbar drop mounts and lower engine mounts. straight bolt in. ive already ordered them.

were they the same as the ones ive ordered?

what was the hardest part of your conversion?

potts85
24-02-2008, 11:36
nah not the same as yours, the hardest part was massaging the tunnel for the gearbox and that was it really

with the kit i got the sump clears the rollbar which was a bonus

gander
24-02-2008, 11:41
yeah the sump was the worry for me. i know ive got to get it modified. the rb25 one fits but is not advised with the rb26. tm going to get the rb26 sump welded up and modified i think.

as for the tunnel. i thought a big hammer would do the trick

potts85
24-02-2008, 11:45
yeah big hammer :wack:

make you you dont do what i did :( i thought i did it enough but i didnt so now need to some how knock it abit more

gander
24-02-2008, 11:52
ah not good. the other option is to fit a gratrac tunnel. pain in the arse with the carpet though.

big hammer it is then. ill keep trying the box for lots of clerance before i do the final install. chers

the turbo on the skyline is imense! what is it? what sort of numbers was that engine laying down?

also.....WHY arent you using it!?...be creative ;)

gander
24-02-2008, 21:36
turbo is a t72 drag turbo. only done about 300 miles. it was all bolt on bits and the power fc wasnt set up. mental fast though. i didnt drive it much but when the turbo cut in (4500 rpm) it took off. ive never driven a car like it.

the reason im not using it is its much too big for drifting and thats what im after. fast street car i can drift in.

dont you fancy buying it to bolt on yours? cheap cheap

25-02-2008, 07:19
looking good :)

M.D.
25-02-2008, 12:18
very nice but whats wrong with the skyline, seems such a waste to rip one to pieces just for an engine, surely you could have just sold it snd bought an engine for half the price for the s13,

fit the CA to the skyline lol.

those mounts look very nice, i have the fitting kit from american ebay and its really good, and i managed to get the engine and box in together from the top on my own, with the car up on wheels :)

gander
26-02-2008, 15:57
nothing was wrong with the skyline. i had just put a years mot on it. just i know ive got everyting to do the conversion if ive got a compleat car to brake.

works good to at the moment so i dont mind :ghey: some money at something i like ha ha.

that sounds like a lot of jiggery pokery. im going to bolt it all to the subframe and pull it up.

gander
01-03-2008, 08:59
got a few more bits yesterday.

my new garrett GT35R rollerbearing turbo . not using the t72 its way to laggy and probably wouldnt fit in the engine bay as the skyline inner wing had to be beaten and cam cover shaved for it to fit.

ha ha well im a gas engineer and only do bits for a hobby. ive got a good mate who is a wizz at making stuff fit together. my last project was a ram 170 quad bike we fitted a yamaha r1 engine into. what a mental machine that was.

i just won my 5 stud conversion off flebay and hopefully get my 50mm overfenders next week.

You'll have no problem doing it with those mounts. Just finished a RB25 conversion with a mate, using those mounts, and they were perfect, everything lined up first time.
No need to mod the transmission tunnel either, and the exhaust fitted straight up aswell. Dont know if the 26 will be any different. Matt

nice one cheers for that reassurance. im using the rb25 box so that should be the same. ive got to get the rb26 sump all welded up and modified as well.

as for the exhaust im running v band on the turbo so ill have to get a downpipe made up and going for side exit out the drivers rear quarter

you can use the rb25 sump on the 26 block. The 4wd blocks have a twin bolt pattern, so it will accept the 2wd sump without mod.

Looking good mate  i'v just started an RB25 s13 conversion  can i ask a couple of question how easy are the rear fenders to fit and how the hell did you get 13's on the rear..

12-05-2008, 20:55
the 13x18 rear wheels with 315 30 18 tyres fit with a 3mm spacer. they dont touch any of the arms or coilover now. going to jump about in the boot now to see if they foul any of the inner bodywork. out comes the grinder if they do. i need some rear lower arms now as ive had to shave it a little off it.

still needs a bit of adjustment but the wheel will roughly sit like this under the arch

the rear arches are easy to fit mate we have nearly finished one tonight. i drilled loads of holes and bonded the arches on with proper bodyshop stuff. screwed it to the car , waited for the bond to set, take the screws out, buff the edges low with a grinder and a small amount of filler to loose the seam and screw holes. ill post some pics up tomorrow. you will also see how i got the 13s on the back with the pics. 15mm spacers and i good offset has helped alot as well.

i see youve ordered lots of fenders. all for one car? lol

ive ordered and payed for the uras gt copy kit from srb to finish it off

should look sweet

go back a couple of pages mate.

we cut the outer arch out then sliced the inner one, pulled it out to meet the outer one and welded it up .it was easy (garry said anyway lol).

my mate bonded them on with sicaflex marine body sealant. its really strong. also filled the under neath with expanding foam to stop any flex. i will have to see if the line cracks in driving use. i dont think it will though. after expanding foaming it, it has stiffened right up.

my plan on the screamer pipe is to leave it for a bit and see where it burns the paint, then get an alloy plate made up to cover and protect the wing.

Good plan. Make sure its rivetted on for extra tyteness

Kit will be here 8th / 11th August mate, so it's over to Rich from there. If he can make JAE, I've a space for the car for sure!

ill say its going to be at as many shows as i can next year. will have the trim all sorted by then as well.

Me and a mate have been looking and discussing your car this evening. Sticks in my top 3 sx's of all time, im very fussy, and i think this is just perfect for the S13. My 14 and 15 will be shown later

Awesome. Are the vertical vents along the doorline custom? I know you can buy wider wings with them in, but I was under the impression you were running Chargespeed, which I didnt think had them. I may of missed the post where you adressed them!
