Now shes doing about 10pis is, and farting allover the place , so i figure I must have bust the lambda sensor when i changed it as she was running ok before i took it all to bits :wack: ( Apart for the tubo being asmatic)

Oh aye for got....FMIC on the way too :D

Since i last postest anythgin on here shes had a fordge recic valve apex coileys fitted an one hell of a clean up, shes also got a ncie new set of expencive brake pads. Still awaiting new wheels so iv not realy set the height on the coilovers yet :ghey:

Starion wheels an rolled arches , other then that maybe a bit of body work. Still not convinced im happy with no grill on there. Think im gonna do with a JDM type bumper for the back aswell that damn black thing offends me.

Well I seem to have fixed my dodgy running! :D AFM clip was missing on the plug...so cable ties to the rescue! Can't have been maing contact properly :o
But i think my turbo has just given up, was shreiking intermittently and sounds like its rattling a bit...b@ll@x! :mad:Its not that old so im hoping its the gasket thats gone. Its coming off tomorro and ill stick some photos up...then decide what to do i guess :(

finaly fixed it! :nod: im so pleased with my self! now i can finaly put the new wheels on an lower it! new exaust next month i think :D

Nice project thread :thumbs: You need 30mm spacers up front for the starions to clear the calipers, I tried like 27mm and it was just touching so needs to be 30mm minimum (got the driftworks various sized slip on one's) thats pressuming your running the 7J's up front and 8Js on the rear, you'll need a fair sized flair on the rear and fronts just about fit with a bit of negative camber :)

nice one , keep meaning to get back down to Dal's but stuff just keep coming up. :rolleyes: Do need some spacers for the front...and i "may" (read as will) need some wider wings even will the camber on full adjust on the coilys :wack:

Bit wordy this one need to vent.
After some well placed advice from Mr Dread,I banished the mystery missfire for just over a week this time. :mad: Then coming home with my buddie and his newly aquired s14 (identical to mine only with 40k less on the clock and a steam cleaned engine.) So yeh anyway jsut after i left him gave her a bit of a poke with the loud pedal and all was well for a few miles. Then the hesitations and missfiring started again. :( ECU dropped me into safe mode and i trundled home at 4k rpm.
Insult to injury its not the plugs or the Lambda thingy. Not the petrol pump or the filter. An its not a boost leak. Been over it all. Its the poxy AFM! Chances are it was all along. Took it out an the resisters look clean but a bit bent. So far O've had no luck finding a 2nd hand one either. Seems to be an older type, got a black square connector on it rather then the more common rounded one. Whats more i replaced the petrol pump for a walbro jobbie, and what did i pull out the tank...a frigging walbro! same part number an everything. :annoyed:Bloke i bought it of swore bling it was standard.
If anyone has one o these AFMs that works an its the right one pls let me know. :cry:

What boost are you running on the GT28r? You could be out flowing you MAF causing it to misfire... think the stock Maf will support up to about 260hp. A
Z32 maf should help out a bit.

Also look into ignition upgrades. Had the same problem on mine...HKS twin power ingnition solved my problem.

Its only on 12psi atm. Found a boost leak last week which realy cleaned it up and replaced the AFM as it died on me and shes run sweet for a week.

apparently not :S i was just checking to see the distance i needed, people have said 30mm+ so i was expecting it to catch the caliper big time...
This is my theory...the bloke who sold me the car LIED.
Theres somthing off on the front...theres no disc cover things (the bit of metal that goes round the back of the disk?) Iv no idea but they bolt on and spin.

Do have a question. Would spacers help with arch clearence - the innerarch seemed to catch slighty , im confused now.

Slammed her down on her bum a bit more aswell, not done the front just yet.
Only done one side so far and iv sanded and popped soem paint on them for the moment to keep the rust away as they were a tad on the rusty side in places anyway. Dread will be getting a visit i nthe not too distent future :thumbs:

this is one i did take - the one iv swaped so far is on the left - i think its quite an obvious difference. Think ill get some xeon thingamys or hids or what ever they are. Looking at it i need clear indicators or smoked ones now :rolleyes:

U S of A my friend. http://www.tougefactory.com/ email them and ask for them as they dont actualy list them , their only lenses aswell so you have to do a bit of DIY on them. Worth it! :nod:

ok well few tips - open the windows an doors when you put the lights in the oven if you do it that way, an take all the bits you can off them as you might melt um (like i did to the back of one o mine :wack:) The other way, takes longer, is put it in a back an twat it with a big hammer, dont melt things but you get glass in your hands! I did one of each an the hammer turned out to be better in a way but slower.
Other then that crack on fella, its not too hard to work out what to spray, an you'll have 2nd thoughts when you get them apart (i know i did!) but its worth it as you can see :D

ahh good lad lol - i sprayed everythgin apart from the actualy bowl of the reflectors - took her out last ngith an i was astounded how much brighter the lights are now. Oh and all 4 ob my bulbs are different collors :rolleyes:

I think its all about the clear sidelights to match the headlights. Prob best to get a set and see how they look, if they need it then darken em up.

Need to vent my brain,
high idle issue, car seems to act like it never warms up even though the temp guage says just under half. Heater is luke warm at best. Only happened after i turned the heater down and then back up (never came back up)
Possibles
water temp sensor for ECU has died on me.
massive air leak
termostats died
water loss/water is low becasue of aircon being used alot (demister)
air lock in system...
ice in system! :o

I get the impresion its running with the auto choak thing open so the engien thinks its cold. Have new thermostat will fit thursday when i pick it up (i hope - need a lift)hint hint

Follow the water hoses from the rad, there is a dome like cover over the thermostat where the left hand (as you look at the engine bay from the front) water hose meets the block. Thermostat is in there.

i had to sort something out about lack of room from my fmic pipe work so i found a bottle at work from an LF45 lorry (im a mechanic but specialise in HGV's) so fitted it with its bracket in the boot, i used the original pipework to the rear wiper/washer that i had previously blocked, took the one way valve out and put a small pump where the old washer bottle/pumps used to be and just put 2 spade connector on the end, looks proper smart and wasnt hard to do...

Amungst "other" problems....(lists too long but -) me being a numpty and not earthing the engine, cracked pipe, fuse box switch thingy dying , flat battery an so on, we have taken a few photo but most of the times been filled with swearing etc. To top it off I took the keys home by mistake :o
Anyway it was on its wheels for all of 10 minuets and the engine goes now too so its almost over .
There are more but I decided thats all your getting (might not be much left by the time I get it home because of the bumps and my drive way! :()
