hi looks like disaters struck i had an accident the other night some twat drove into the side of me on a roundabout causeing some minor damage to the rear quarter and rear wheel insurance company might have written my car off for the minor damage although i dont know the outcome yet they might offer me to buy it back so it might still live will post up ;piccies of the damage to see what everyone else thinks as it really isnt bad but to the insurance it might be a write -off gutted:mad:  :wack:  :annoyed:

25-04-2007, 13:30
seems it might be possible to buy my car back off the insurance company and still have tidy sum left t so how much is an engine re-build and wheres best place to get it done or do i go for a second hand engine to save a bit of money and spend whats left on other areas of the car any thoughts suggestion please post them up thanxs paul:thumbs:

nitrodave
25-04-2007, 14:40
if you have the space, time and tools... pull the engine out and put it on a stand, then proceed to rebuild it. there are a few guides on how to do this, just search around.

looks like a good project, similar to wha ti'm trying to achieve - on a budget though ;)

good luck with it!

25-04-2007, 14:56
could be worth looking into mate ive got a garage to work in so seems do able ?but im impatient to have me car back running sweet and not leaving massive smoke clouds behind me so might go for the second hand option suppose ill have to wait to see how much the insurance couhgs up thanxs paul:thumbs:

where did Jason get the perspex screen from?

How much are they new? Are they easy to fit?

200sxslide
25-05-2007, 12:30
not entirely sure mate think he bought a sheet of perspex and did it himself not a bad job either

callum
25-05-2007, 15:46
Yer, I'd be interested in a perspex rear screen. The easiest way to better performance is diet the car, which is my first thing to do.

200sxslide
25-06-2007, 09:49
hi guys have spent the weekend working on the car again and have discovered the reason why i keep kicking out massive smoke clouds wait for it yes some idiot had fitted his one way valve the wrong way round(cheers mate u know who u r without that i would have bought a new engine)so now that im not doing james bond impressions anymore i decided to fix the split water hoses as well (done with a water pipe stolen off my mates kx125).so now everythings up and running again and i actullay drove the car for the first time in a month .I NOW HAVE THAT BIG SMILE BACK.......:sxoc: :sxoc: :D :D :wack:

my new air filter turned up 2

200sxslide
03-07-2007, 15:22
my engine finally decided to give up last thursday so it looks like i will be needing a new one after all so as i couldnt drive it at the weekend i decided to strip it and put things back together properly also started to strip the sound deading out of the boot got a bit carried away and ended up doing half the car now this is a slow and tedious job but some how i seemed to enjoy taking some of my frustrations out on it anyway more updates to follow maybe with pics if someone tells me how too do it :notworthy thanxs:thumbs:

Matty2Fatty
03-07-2007, 15:59

got some more work done over the weekend .took the engine and gearbox out without a problem split the box from the engine no problems.put the turbo and all my new braided hoses on .got to splitting the flywheel from the old engine took 7 bolts out no problem but the last one wouldnt budge .why is it that theres always one that wants to be a pain in the arse so work ground to a halt  whilst i was doing that one of my mates got on with grinding down and spraying some rust in the engine bay  whist we had the car up in the air thought we"d have a look to see if there was any rust .i wish i hadnt i now have on the passenger side floor a fist sized hole that will need welding  so if anyone has any suggestion on how to remove my troublsome flywheel bolt then please post it up thanxs and hopefully the next time i wont have so many problems still wasnt a bad days work

hi everyone after looking at my 200 sx over christmas it would seem that i need a new rear subframe, new tyres, new wings ,more rust to be welded, clucth still slipping ,loads more mods (to get a 13.0 1/4 mile 4 pro street ).so after having a think (yes it did hurt my brain)ive decided it would be cheaper and less time consuming to just buy a s13 with a blown engine and then just swap the engines over and all my other parts on to the new car my grey s13 will be broken for parts:cry:(ive got my eye on a white auto with blown engine near me :))so as and when all this happens i will update the thread with pics thanxs paul

p.s. if anyones got a s13 with a blown engine that needs work p.m. me thanxs :Plug:

hi everyone have picked up the white auto shell and to be honest its not as described .its pretty rusty fist sized holes in both sidesills tailgates seen better days(whos hasnt) and the passenger rear wings completely rusted and holed wing mirrors broken drivers seats dosnt stay up (i look like one of those gangsta pimps lol)so i havnt quite decide wether to scrap or repair but either way ill post it up thanxs paul:thumbs:

p.s.funny but the air-con on it works brilliantly really cold lol:thumbs:
