I must live in the wrong country. Is it wrong to hate this guy?? I had to mug an old lady this morning just to get enough money to buy a packet of hobnobs (not chocolate ones as she hadn't been to get her pension, had i waited just 10 minutes.....)
And he has all this stuff!!!!
something is wrong with the world!
on a serious note tho, fair play.
nice car now stop messin about and fit the stuff!
if its still not on your car in two weeks I will find you.
In the immortal words of the lovely IRA "we know where you live"

Cool project, and great going for all the stuff at once, even if it takes you soo long....
I havent driven my car for almost a eyar because of my project.
One question thoug. What are all the Extra stuff you got for the Emanage ?
It looks like you got a lot of extra adapters for it, but the Emanage Ultimate, has most of the older Blue Emanage adapters, already inside.
Can you explain exactly what you have there ?
Thanks, and good luck !

I see in the pictures, lots of Greddy Emanage stuff.
Can you explain what exactly do you have there reguarding the Emanage ?
Supraman
01-05-2007, 12:39
All what I have in electronics : an e-Manage with its ultimate harness + specific harness for S14 (like a Field One Touch coupler, with the S14 plug) - and a friend advised me to take a GReddy water temp and knock sensor adaptors (white boxes) - a GReddy Profec e-01 boost controller and a Bee-R Rev Limiter.

At what age you get your licence in France ?
Allso, about the Emanage - you Dont need any Adapters with the Ultimate, as you used to need with the older Emanage Blue - thats why i asked.
Anyway, good luck !!!
Supraman
02-05-2007, 11:24
Oh OK! I didn't know I don't need adaptors! A friend told me that it would be good to have them... The license is @ 18, but we can begin it @ 17 1/2 with parental approbation and have it @ just 18 ;-) And it exists too an "accompagnined license", a license who begins @ 16 but we have to drive with a person who is more than 27 and whho's got his license since more than 2 years.
Amazing work mate, and the right attitude as well - suspension, engine, aero in that order
Do you know what the difference between the Hipermax D and Hipermax II coilovers is?? Ive got Hipermax II and the only thing I can see is that my rears are dual rate - Ive got a helper spring on there as well :)
Where did you get them as well??
Supraman
02-05-2007, 12:24
Thanks
I got them on ebay from USA ;-)
Hypermax D (D like Drift) = specially built by HKS for drift. Can't change the height, only compression and flex.
Hypermax II : coilovers from HKS (like Tein etc), can change height and more...
It's that I think ;-)

top two pics look like dents in the bearing surface which can only happen when the cams are removed maybe befor you owned the car the top end was striped and not treated well:nod:

25-12-2007, 22:31
The only damage from the cams is scores running with the rotating cams all the other are damage done by somebody being heavy handed. Any scores or dents arent good, i wouldnt put it back together with that amount of damage.

The 17 inch rims will give you the best handling. Get somebody to photoshop them on your car. They look good to me. I would get the Volk GTU as they have a good dish and look nice. I dont think the gold 18s would fit being that wide and you say they are expensive.

This morning, I went to Nissan to buy some bearings and few other bits (I have Nissan FAST at home, so I just did a copy of my part list on FAST, and I went with it to Nissan, it was much faster than searching with the guy at the Nissan workshop :ghey: ). He was amazed by that  :wack: :D
- 5 main bearings, grades : 1-2-3-2-3
- 4 con rod bearings, grades : 0-0-0-0
- 1 set of crank thrust washers bearings (I just copied the name on the internet)
- 1 front mail seal
- 8 little rings for the piston axle (because the CP Pistons' rings are without holes to unassemble them...), and of course, I don't know how it means in english lol
- 8 head to ex manifold studs and nuts
That's all for the moment :D Maybe I'll begin the rebuild of the bottom end this week end, or maybe we'll try my friend's Sard Roller Fender on our Silvias (PS13 and S14) :wack:

Listen up man. Two things....
1) The larger Bung on the oil pan (right one in the picure) , is for the drain plug (bolt).
Do not use the ELLEN plug you have ther - use a OEM Type bolt with O ring, otherwise it will leak.
2) Very important !!! YOU MUST use the Piston CIRCLIPS (little rings), that came with the CP pistons.
They are a diffrent thikness than the OEM ones, and will not seat well, as the seats in the pistons are not designed for them.
You dont need the little holes, the OEM ones have. Look at the piston where the CIRCLIPS go. You have a small hole on the side of the CIRCLIP groove, that is used to stick a small screw driver, when you want to pull them out !
USE the CP CIRCLIPS !
Good luck.

as said DO NOT USE NISSAN CIRCLIPS the cp ones are really easy to fit :nod:i put a little bit of grease in the hole in the piston [not the circlip]then placed the open end of the clip into the hole[small end in the piston] pointing toward the top of the piston then with the help of the flat face of a screw driver placed onto the bottom of the circlip pushed it up and using my thumb to stop it poping out, it really is easy when you get the hang of it

Today I went to Nissan for my parts, but the OEM circlips were already here... It's nothing, it wil help me wherever else :wack: Nissan f***cked me!!! They sell main bearings as a pair, but con rod bearings as ONE PIECE!!!!!!!! So I had to order 4 more   And they are the same as Nismo ones, but only con rod bearings, main Nismo and Nissan bearings are not the same!!!

What's the difference between the Nissan & Nismo main bearings?
Supraman
11-01-2008, 20:28
4 holes on the Nismo ones, and the same little thing ine the middle on both of them (I don't know how it means in english and how to explain this) when on the Nissan one there's only on one side.

Because with my first valve remover, that wasn’t very easy… :euge:
http://shutter09.pictures.aol.com/data/pictures/24/006/67/FE/27/8C/kVBMgPdZdZuQOFzPMFn0+j8Tg2GQB+Mx0300.jpg
Now with the facelifted second generation valve remover… It’s a way easier :wack:

So, that’s all for the moment. Now : I have to order last bits (like the oil strainer, some more poly bushes, turbo, manifold etc), rebuild everything and start that fu***g b**ch :D :wack:

I heard here in France from a guy who's riding one that it's very nice for the price, and that the diaphragm is very strong. What do you think ??
And for the future turbo, it would be a Garrett GT3076R A/R 0.78 with twin scroll enter and V-band flange, or maybe a GT3071R with the same turbine setup :D

I began by unbolt the CopperMix because I forgot to fit the backing plate between the engine and the Gbox… I thought it comes after…
After, I put the Gbox on (it’s heavy !!!) and I mounted the Nismo silentblock

brilliant work mate, but ive just seen that you have plumbed what you call a ''breather'' into your radiator, is this a replacement header tank ???
the other thing i will say is to get rid of the screamer pipe, on an internally gated turbo they generally leak and sound terrible,
well done on the whole job, is really looking ace
Thats looking really good now.
Have you done all this work on your own?
Bet you can't wait to get her out on the road.

The breather tank is between the radiator and the coolant tank ;) After, there is one hose which goes from the B. tank to the lower rad hose, and one wich goes from the B. tank to where is the little 6mm screw on the coolant outlet elbow under the CAS
For the screamer pipe, I love that song :sxoc: :wack: But yeah, it's leaking a little bit, I got to buy a square of high temp joint

I went on Sunday to my garage, and I had only 2 hours for any work... So I decided to repair my Breather Tank adapter fitting :)
It looked like this before. There was only one little thread on it...
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/1934140937_1.jpg
So I took a 6mm screw, I cut it to the original specification and then I did a 2mm hole in it (like in the original fitting) and I enlarged the entry to 3mm.
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/1934142231_1.jpg
Then, I did a 5mm hole in the screw's head and I tapped it with a M6 tap.
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/1934142633_1.jpg
That's it
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/1934143037_1.jpg
Now, just a bit of liquid gasket and a little bit of red Loctite
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/1934143583_1.jpg
Done!!! We can't see anything, it's 100% like the original :wack:

Does the radiator cap no longer function as a pressure relief valve in your system ? and therefore breather tank is functioning as the header tank instead of the end (top) tank on the radiator ?
Is it supposed to function as a swirl pot aswell ?
It looks like the hose isnt braided ? it will surely balloon and split or pop off the connections when its running ?

that is one sweet turbo, twin entry as well, i could be doing with one of those for my 3S-GTE.
you'll like the launch control on the EMU, alot like the Bee-R but softer on the componants, sounds like the car is ready to take off and with a turbo that size i think it just might!

The manifold was sold as a T3 and is a T4, so I need an adaptor flange from T4 to T3...
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/2044154315_1.jpg
So, I bought one on ebay

I did some work but not much because I had a lot of work in the garden...
Firstable, 3 nice pics of the turbo on the manifold :) Shit of manifold, the flange is not flat... And screws doesn't match holes... So I had to use 8mm bolts and to do my best to match the adapter with the manifold flange. But now, it rocks !!!

Just read your entire thread and your build is the tits! can wait to see it all finished!
how much bhp you looking at with that setup?
Supraman

Thanks :)
I'm looking at 380/400bhp for the moment, as I'm slowed by my little 555cc/min injectors :(
But next year, I'm already thinking about 500bhp with some 740's or 850's and a good remap of my e-Manage Ultimate (but when I bought it, I didn't know that no one now how to map that in France :( )

This week-end, I learnt how to mount a 225 tire on a 9.5" wheel, with the japan method :smokin: :euge: It's very funny :wack:
I did some minor work on the Silvia too.
I began by welding my piping between the turbo and the IC
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/2141578007_1.jpg
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/2141579427_1.jpg
Then I began the welding of my elbow with its flex
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/2141582555_1.jpg
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/2141583261_1.jpg
It still needs some welding, griding and re-welding to be finished, but it's already looking like the final thing
http://74.img.v4.skyrock.net/749/nissansilvias14/pics/2141584361_1.jpg

IC and intake piping finished. Filter located at the coolant reservoir's place. I'll buy a smaller aluminium reservoir from ebay to replace the platic one.

I'm thinking to buy that one :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-Coolant-Reservoir-Tank-Honda-Nissan-DSM-RCT4-Chrome_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q 3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286 Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem150309698364QQitemZ150309698 364QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
It looks pretty and it's not that expensive. You can choose between red, blue and chrome colours
You also have that one wich is a little bit more expensive, and the little nipple is on the top, and on our plastic shits, it's on the bottom, like on the reservoir of the first link.
