View Full Version : Speakers
I will be looking to replace the standard speakers in my S14, before i start ripping it to pieces, whats the largest you can go front and back without cutting large holes in the doors and shelf.
Cheers
Mark
if im not mistaken they are 6.5" all round.
i will be selling my parcel shelf cheap which has Apline mid and tweeters on it and it looks very smart, ill post you a pic if your interested.
cheers, YODI
yes please, how much?
Mark
6.5" is correct but they have to be flat on top, my old pionners would not fit. you have to cut the little plastic lugs off the speaker holder too. but all very easy. best replace the speaker cable too cos its crap.
thats also true, on the speaker pod there are several lugs which need to be cut off but they are only plastic so its not hard at all.
Ill post you a pic of the shelf tommorow with the alpine part.no, the shelf looks very smart, it holds alpine tweeters and speaker grills, the speaker sit on the metal shelf.
Im after £60 for it outright so you can keep your old shelf.
Cheers, YODI
ooh..
just posted my Rockfords for sale too..
may want to have a look at that thread.. They're a 6.5inch component set.. They're the front speakers I'm using at the moment..
Where have you mounted the tweeters?
If it runs well after the new cams are fitted the weekend and doesnt need anything else, i could be interested. Although it will be a case of induction filter or speakers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hmmmmmmmm
Mark
Tweeters were in original mounts to start with.. I just felt they sounded a little harsh because i dont have an eq to attenuate them and the -3db on the crossovers werent enough..
Now they're in the kickwells...
I was offered some speakers that were too good to turn down so these are gonna have to go :)
i have the rocky fnp2614's in mine - awsome - but need to be amped!!
YODI
Any chance of getting that pic of your shelf !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark

YODI
