Motegi touge, nice  as used by several top US drifters. Where do they supply from in the UK?
I got them off ebay from the states

Thing is if they went to bother of taking out most of the glass to paint it, why did they paint it with the bumpers on? Looking at how tightly they fit is there not a build up between panels that will crack?

Thanks for all the comments guys, will try and get some final pics today when its flatted and polished and hopefully in the sun:)
Looking good mate :notworthy Cant help wondering what it would look like with a black roof though
the kit is spot on, not too in yer face and not to 'normal'
god my car needs soooooooooooooo much work :annoyed:
Did think about a black roof, but decided agaisnt it in the end
I'm not one for looks, and certainly not red cars as is well known.
However it does look stunning  congrats
Rear view especially, the no-bumper line, rear valance, rear arch flare, carbon despoilered :smitten:
Still cant help wondering, all that money on a respray and its still red :wack:
Wow, that look really amazing:thumbs:
Your car was one of my favorite S14's before the work, but now it looks even more special.
The paint work, and especially the rear arches, are just:notworthy
Plus, i don't know why everyone is a red car "hater", it looked good before and great now:D
Top Job!
PS. If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your old wheels?
:ingerland
I would have sprayed the bonnet and boot red but thats just me :)
Me too I must say, but hey - it's Ken's car, and a lovely one too!
Me too I must say, but hey - it's Ken's car, and a lovely one too!
Whats the point of having carbon and painting them  its carbon and it looks
I am gagging for a carbon bonnet but really cant afford it

Looks absolutely beautiful
Definately one of my favourite 14's
Whats the point of having carbon and painting them  its carbon and it looks  Surely the point is weight saving, thus having stick in carbon coverings is :ghey::D
I guess it's because I don't like the fact it's so obvious, it's like "look at me I've a carbon boot". It's all personal preference though.
I am gagging for a carbon bonnet but really cant afford it
I thought the third reich left it's founders quite well off?

it's like "look at me I've a carbon boot".
Exactly :D cars with real carbon look hard as fook
I thought the third reich left it's founders quite well off?
Sadly it was all spent on cheap women, booze and cigars :(

I'm glad you didn't get a black roof. They just don't look right on red cars IMO :)

Thread blast from the past! :wack:
lol just trapsing through the old forum posts, never realised how old the thread was :D
Thought I'd post an update on whats been happening with the car, back in October last year noticed the car was getting a little laggy and felt flat so checked all the boost hoses etc for leaks but all seemed fine, pulled the pipe off the turbo and found a huge amount of play in the turbo both in and out and side to side:cry: , so turbo came off and was sent away for a rebuild. Unfortunately it was well and truly fecked and although could be rebuilt with Garrett internals it just wasn't economically viable, you can see from the pics how the compressor housing is score to buggery and the it big chunks out of both wheels

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v72/Ken200/Update023.jpg
Core was basically junk aswell, so after I got over my initial pissed off want to set light to the damn car stage there was only one thing I could do really, replace it with a bigger one :D , so a call to Bren and a couple of months later and a T67 25G 10cm now sits where the TD06 was.

nice, VVVVV nice turbo
Plans at this stage were to just pull the engine and strip it to check it was okay, put on the T67 and remap it, Gary pulled the engine stripped and checked it and thank god all was okay, though there was a few small bits of the turbo core in the sump:eek: fortunately no damage anywhere and whilst the engine was out I gave the bay a nice coat of black paint to tidy it up
So I was happy just replacing the turbo and leaving everthing else as it was but Gary knowing I'm weak and like shiney things had other ideas, and sent me a link to the Ikeya Formula website and their throttle body kit, I tried manfully to resist and lasted about 24 seconds before persuading myself I really need them, few weeks later they arrive from Nengun

Thought it best to upgrade the fuel system to match, so Gary sorted a twin pump system, walbro 255 lph in tank pump, walbro 255 lph external pump, dash 8 fuel lines to feed and dash 6 return, Areomotive FPR, high flow filter from Summit racing and RC engineering 1000cc top feed injectors

I can see the ££££££ emptying from you wallet from here :D
Next we decided to update the engine mangement to a Motec M400 to cope with all the new bits and so I could use a AIM digital dash, here's the motec with the loom lovingly created by Mr Hayward
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v72/Ken200/Update010.jpg
Deciding I wanted ( read as tempted by the devil that is Gary :whip: ) the AIM dash caused a few probs, mainly that I had hacked my original dash around to mount gauges so the old one has to be replaced, currently the interior looks like this

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v72/Ken200/Update001.jpg
New dash is here thanks to Phill for the dash and Matt S for sorting the courier:thumbs: but is yet to be fitted
Car being off the road has been handy in a way as its given time to sort some other bits too
Oil cooler

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v72/Ken200/Update018.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v72/Ken200/Update007.jpg
And thats where she's at as of today, still a lot to do and still some bits to arrive but its getting there, will update as it progresses. Big thanks to Gary, Chris and Christian for all their hard work and for putting up with having the car for 7 months:thumbs: :notworthy

Thanks mate, Turbo kit was 2.2k
 £2200 for just the turbo?? Christ, hate to think what it racks up to included the new plenum/tb's, injectors, ECU, etc!!
Looks like some serious work going on anyway, how much hp are you aiming for?
Sorry 2.2k was for the complete turbo kit, so includes manifold, front pipe, oil feed and return, wategate, intake pipework and filter:)
Ah right, I did think £2200 was a lot for just a turbo!! The management, injector and TB's must have set you back at least another £1500 as well though?
Looks like you are improving on an already awesome car
Any changes planned for the bodywork, or are you still happy with that?
Stunning work!!!!!!
Absolutly top class
Makes me reconsidering not going to the JAE this year :D
Really stunning ken, looks great in the flesh. Personally I'd tint the new rear lights though. Are they all leds or part leds?

Hoping for 550ish BHP with full boost about 4-4500k rpm, hopefully the TB's will help mid range

Nice, what I expected I guess.
I assume your running a standard rev limit ~7500rpm? I have always thought it would be so nice to have a turbo like that and have a bit more room at the top end.....
Cheers.:)

One owrod of advice. Get the boys to put some sort of shield/cover over the relays/wires to ensure they done get knocked and the wires dont get pulled/chaffed. I suffered a fuel pump fuse failiure when my jack hit the fuel pump wires against the metal :wack:. I know you probably run a boot carpet etc and dont carry as much shit in the boot as me, but I thinkits a wise move :)
Good point Matt, not going to put the carpets back in so I'd best get something sorted, ta
