I sick and tired of gettin no bass outta the 180w 6" in my metal parcel shelf, is it worth me buyin some 6x9 and cuttin it away? :rolleyes:

my plan is to cut a new shelf out of 20mm MDF and mount a couple of tasty 10" subs in there!
I assume by 'metal parcel shelf' you mean the standard one? If so I don't see any prob's with cutting it but 6x9's really aren't that great for BASS. You'd be better gettin' some MDF and black material to cover it (about £25) and fitting a nice sub-woofer or two :D .

Paul dont cut the metal shelf mate, its an important part of the body!!!!!!!

Just use wome soundproofing to cover the metal..

either "dynamat" or "brown bread" would work fine.. but i personally use "flashing tape" for roofing.. is virtually the same thing and is a fraction of the price.. even if you use multiple layers..

you can get it from wickes or homebase, places like that..

it'll work wonders for bass response...
