T28 on standard exhaust?

I am looking to upgrade the T25 standard turbo to a T28 from an S14. I have been looking around and it seems that i need at least a 3" exhaust. Thing is that they seem to be unbelievably loud. I kind of like the standard exhaust (noise wise). So my question is. How will it run with the standard exhaust?
Or do i need to go get a 3" and a crate of earplugs? :)

My old S13 ran fine with a T28 and a standard exhaust , lovely and quiet but as the air filter was replaced it had the induction roar of a monster :thumbs:

Yeah it did :D:wave:

Changing the exhaust for a straight through made a big difference, but it was still quick with standard, and much quieter
