Hello guys,

Do any one know the 2nd hand price of a set of front capiler and disc of standard GTR 32 or GTR 33 in U.K.?

Cheers

Well, the R32 and R33 GTR calipers are different (you probably know that already...) so there is quite a difference in price. R33 GTR calipers can go for anything from £200 - £500 a pair, it just depends where you get them. The R32 GTR calipers are cheaper as they aren't much different to the S14 ones. I'd say around £200 for the paid at the most.

Thx Ben,

seems it is quite expensive

However I can't agree with u about R32 and S14..
Becoz the capiler of GTR 32 is much lighter than and S14 one...that is what I feel when I was in a scrapyard today..really much lighter...do u know the weight of a S14 capiler plus a disc?

I've got a set of GTR 32...which is about 10-11kg (1 capiler plus 1 disc without brake pad )...I suppose lighter unsprung weight is better.

Cheers

Yeah, lighter is better.......until you wanna stop in a hurry, then you'll wish you fitted the heavier R33 or R34 set up on there, with the bigger 324mm discs!

Weights got sod all to do with the breaking efficiency Dan. It just so happens that the R33/34 brakes are better than the R32s. Lighter calipers are preferential because there is less unsprung weight so the suspension works better.

:D:D:D

Are the R32 ones lighter cos they're Alloy and the S14 ones Cast Iron?

I think the R32 GTR calipers are the same as what they put on the R33 GTS - 295mm and look the same as the S14.

I think they are lighter because they are made of Ally, not like the S14s.....IMHO;)

Just did the pads/discs on my car at the weekend. Those calipers are F. heavy. I would say that if there's an identical aluminium version of those calipers, it would be a most effective upgrade in handling terms.

Anyone got any for sale then?

I've got a set of R32 without brakepad..
the disc are drilled with holes...
net weight is around 11kg without pad per side...

what is the weight of S14's one?

I have R32 calipers fitted to my S13, they are alloy and look the same as 300ZX and S14 calipers!
