New boy with S13 probs... help

hey everyone

i bought a face lift k plate 200sx yesterday - it had a misfire so got it cheap lol

anyway im still having probs with it

i just changed the plugs, ones in it were a bit fukked but misfire was still there, so started to fiddle with all the plug connectors

cyl 3 plug on the injector has the clip broke off, i messed about with it and pluged it back in and the misfire went

hey hey, so i take it for a spin and fook me, it flys!

well,, it did for 10 mins and started to mis again, so i pulled over and had a look, the plug is still connected and so i drove home and bent the pins in a bit to make a snug fit - still misfires.

doesnt get any worse when i unplug the injector, so im thinking its the injector shagged?

or can the coil packs fault intermitantly?

Try swapping the coil pacs around, to see if the miss moves with the pack.

Check the wiring to the coils.

Check the wiring on the dropping resistor (small silver box with 5 wires near the airbox). One wire is 12 feed, the others are the positive for each injector.

I take it you mean the plug for the coil pack and not the injector?
It's not unheard of for the coil packs to fail.
Where are you mate if your near wiltshire I have a spare one that you can try?

Or swap them round and see if the missfire changes cylinders that would be easyer. never thought of that :rolleyes:

only other prob is the gear linkage is like stirring soup lol, but quickshift kits are like £30 on ebay so that will do lol

i will swap coil packs tomoz, thats 1st on the list as i know they often fail

ill check the wiring too.

just seemed strange that when i moved the injector plug it was ok, then drove it for a bit and it went back to running on 3...

got another coilpack of me mate steve and jobs a goodun :D
