will a std clutch live with 260 odd bhp stg2?

depends how you drive it.
i know people who run 280hp on LUk clutch which is about standard or slightly better than the stock clutch. but they dont race there cars off the lights every day.
id stick with what you have for now should be ok unless you plan on doing drag starts evey day.

I have recently gone stage 2 with my car and fitted an AP racing Plate and a Nismo Cover from Bren @ Apex Performance :Plug: just to be on the safe side. It was quite cheap at around the 250quid Mark I think :)

The reason I went for a slightly better clutch is that I really can't be bothered to change it again in 6 months if i wear out a standard one, so thought best to be on the safe side :P

you'll wear it out faster than with stock power, but it should be ok, that's the absolute limit though IMO, upgrade when it dies

That's very cheap for that setup, are you sure? Normally around £390...

I had a standard clutch at stage2, held fine - only changed it because it was coming to the end of it's life. I dont tend to do too many hard starts though.

If I was buying a clutch for stage2 I wouldn't go with a standard one on though, as if you want to go stage3 it will limit you. And since stage3 is only an AFM and injectors away I reckon you'll be too tempted ;)

Try Bren's organic kit for stage3 - it's holding up fine on my car and has a very nice feel to it :)

My std. clutch started slipping when I was at stage 2. It held well to begin with though and only slipped under extreme abuse. Suck it and see I say, then upgrade when it goes.

Mine too... I did around 6/7K in it and it was fine when it came off for the engine rebuild... I've upgraded now cos I've forged pistons etc, got a nice 6puck clutch from the states... I take it out for the first time on Saturday  fingers crossed :wack: :D

Im stage 2, and my clutch holds fine, but sometimes it slips, but only for a little bit, then catches again. Any ideas on an upgrade for me?

I did the same clutch upgrade as Arry and I'm on stg3 now. Its only seen one drift day and a drag day though so not really a long term test but has been fine so far :)

I gave mine a dose of stage 3and a bit for 6 months. It survived, but it did slip if you gave it 100% stick.
