Have any of you made an MDF shelf for your S13., or have you bought one. If so, what thickness of MDF have you used. Was looking in B&Q yesterday and could not decide between, 6, 12 or 18mm.

Help !!

If you're making a shelf from MDF, Go for 18mm..... but does anyone here recon Marine Ply would be better?

Didin..... what's your thoughts.

Birch Plywood is the best material for making boxes and shelves from, as it doesn't flex as much as MDF.

yep. good and thick is best but make sure you also make mdf supports that are bolted to the boot floor for the shelf to sit on cos its gunna be heavy.

Thanks for the replies. I am going for a shelf as I can not afford to lose the space by putting a sub box in there. I can not really use supports for the shelf as I need to carry things in the boot, so will have to let the shelf support itself.

Cheers.
