S15 Helical LSD complete with half shafts. This will need to be built up into an S13 or S14 housing.

£300.

What mileage has it done?

kind of, phill is breaking his car before it's even on the road so I'm helping him shift all the stuff.
I'm on the BB most of the time, and I know more about the stuff he's selling than he does. :D I've got to keep an eye on him. :D

Phill asked JapAndy to get us two S15 diffs, one his, one mine, his is now for sale.

Not a technical thread, I know, but is it much of a job to change the final drive gear to an S13 one (to get the 3.916 ratio)?
Would the bits from an old S13 non-LSD diff be enough to do this (and provide a suitable casing)?

Also, how much of the bit swapping is DIY (do you need a machine shop for much)?

I'm a bit interested :) . If I did go for it, is anyone from around your way going to the Apex meet this month? (I'm suspecting P&P would be rather nasty  ).

P.S. Don't take 19k, 3.916 S14/S15 auto VLSD's (pumpkin only) part-ex do you? :D

This is just the pumpkin (?) and output shafts with no crown or pinion so you have to fit the existing ones from another diff anyway.

I think some of the local guys are going to the Apex meet yeah.

Jez had his put together at a gearbox place IIRC, I tihnk you have to make up some washer type things to enable you to bolt the crown wheel on. Not entirely sure.

The diff is actually in Birmingham so it's a little closer to you! lol.

Nearer-ish :wack: :D .

So it's actually some of the bits of a diff then , rather than the entire unit.
Is it what I've circled, plus the half-shafts? :) .

I have a few diffs, it's just I'd rather merge it with bits from the worthless one (i.e. S13 open diff), than pull apart the ones I'll be selling to raise the money (S13 & S15 LSD's). I'd better do some reading up...

I fitted a non-lsd S13 diff crown to an S15 hLSD core.

You need to get some tubular spacers made up as the holes in the hLSD core are bigger than the S13 bolts. Cost me about £20 at a local machine shop.

You then have to shim the diff to get the crown and pinion clearance and the bearing clearances correct. I got a local gearbox place to build my diff with new bearings and seals.

Phill, you need to get Ben to take some pictures of them. :D

I'll ask but I know he's very busy at work at the mo. I'll try and pick them up soon.

I've told him not to bother with my box mate but if you want it done then i'll leave it with him. He's not started them yet - all he's got is the uprated bearings and seal kit at the moment.

I'm collecting this on the weekend so i'll have it at home should anyone want pics etc.
