Hi,

Recently fitted an Apexi air filter and a Walbro.

Been running AVCR on 1bar for a couple of months. I reset to self learn after mods and now it's spiking up to 1.15bar. It only does it when going through the gears. Pulling 3rd to 5k will get .95bar every time but when I change up it surges to 1.15 and then backs off. It doesn't do it every time, probably 1 in 5 times.

Do I have a problem and is the AVCR any good(accurate) at boost readings?

Cheers

I'm no expert, but pretty sure that the response time is what needs adjusting, the boost will be building quicker now and it sounds like its not reacting quick enough.

AVCR is as accurate a boost gauge as you will get.

Response time?

reaction time, response time, forget what its called, think its 1-5 with 3 or 4 being normal.
It will then react quicker to boost changes, and therefore spike less.

I dont actually have an AVCR, but hopefully somebody who has one will reply.

F/B speed is what kev's getting at (feedback speed) goes from 1-9 with 1 being slowest, 9 being fastest. try playing about with it a bit and see if that makes a difference

Thanks,

Will give it a go later on today hopefully when the road dries off.

mine does this and i've got basically the same mods, i'm not to bothered though as my boost is only set to 0.90 and spikes to 0.99 at the most, on rare occasions, be nice to see your findings though

You could try switching off the self-learning mode in 1st and 2nd gear - I found that this helped it to learn "better" as things happen too quick in the lower gears

I've switched learn gear off for all gears, I thought it was for setting up only. Does it matter if it's on all the time? What does it actually do? :)

I was close then. :D

You should always leave it learning in 4th/5th, then it will adapt to any seasonal changes (boost will build quicker in winter). 1/2 happens too quick to learn, 3rd is just about OK.
