Just wandered what people have paid for them and what a desent price is for used calipers, disks and pads in good condition?

Price difference between R33 and R34?

I called Abbey MS about a month ago, and they quoted £600 for R33 GTR Calipers, disks and pads (Used)

I think there's probably VAT to pay on top of that - I heard the other day that they had a full set of front and reads, inc discs and pads for £1000 - but there was VAT on top of that which puts another £175 on that price :(

Abbey really are taking the piss with those prices IMO, I'm sure they can't be much more than that new.

£500 from MGT racing in Nuneaton (Skyline Breakers), where i got my FMIC, If everyone mentions Monkey200 when they order maybe I'll get them cheaper when/if I go down that route (not likely now, after seeing disk prices, would go for Brens (new, not yet available kit) as the alloy bell with seperate rotor makes for cheap disks WHEN they get warped on the track

Although I don´t know what the difference is these aren´t exactly GT-R calipers. We have those going cheaply here, if I remember correctly they are used in a Seat Cupra of some kind.

For my R33 setup I paid £400 :D for calipers, disks and DS3000, plus come with the added bonus of doing a couple of stops on a red 9 second R32 :whip: :D :D Plus the condition is nearly new!

For that kind of money nothing comes close :D :notworthy

R33/R34 disks can be had relatively cheaply, if you don't go for the genuine Nissan/Brembo parts! ;)

And you'd be hard pushed to warp them... they are MUCH thicker than standard S14 disks.

So £600-£650 for a set of used calipers, used disks and new nissan new pads is no good?

I paid £550 for mine, but had to buy pads.

Would nissan pads be good enough, i wanted DS2500's?

Jolly, go for DS2500s ..... they're cheaper than 200 pads! :) and bloody good aswell

this thing with the expensive replacement discs is developing into a right old wives tale - there's plenty of options from cheapies to things like DBAs Kangaroos Paw malarky ;)

I'm with Si (Roberts) on this one, if you are patient and can source some they're a fantastic mod

Yep keep your eyes open, also DS2500 :), but Endless :D

The other option I did look into was Evo 6 setup, when fitting my R33 setup down the garage, my mate was fitting some Ferodos to an Evo. Managed to have a quick look, they looked an option. But you'd need to get a mounting bracket made up. Still if you look on MLR or Ebay Evo 4-6 setups go for not alot. Might be worth further investigation.

Also I think that my 400 punds is not the norm :D  :p :D

Jolly already knows this but for the info of others,

I got the calipers and discs (about 6000km wear) with brand new DS2500 pads delivered for £650.

That was a private sale when the owner upgraded the brakes (Via Rod Bell of RB Motorsport)

Skyline brakes will save you money! :wack:

Just think, if you needed new disks and pads, that's £250+ for genuine Nissan parts, plus labour. Call it £400 total from a Nissan dealer. Then consider your callipers will probably need reconditioning soon - add another £100. Total, £500.

Now, consider you can buy Skyline brakes for approx £500, and fit them yourself...

That's a saving of £0. Not much of a saving, but as it's technically not a positive cost, it must therefore be a saving
