View Full Version : Loss of servo assistance

I was accelerating up a steepish section of dual carriage way and used the brakes hard - however for a brief moment I seemed to loose servo assistance, and it freaked me out.

Its never happened anywhere else so I repeated the conditions on a clear day up the same hill and I think I got the same result but not as extreme.

Connections to Servo? (I don't really know how brake servo works)

Yep, check the hoses connected to the servo. If they leak it can do funny things to your brakes.:wack:

Actually just remembered another thread - something to do with replacing a circlip with a jubilee?

Do you know how many hoses there are to check? I know there's a thick one from the rocker cover

Cheers steve

Just the one running from the plenum to the servo with a one-way valve in the middle of it.

There are 4 clips along its length from the back of the cam cover to the brake servo

Did mine the other week, 10 minute job
