View Full Version : 13 degrees outside temp and fuel cut?
Have never experience fuel cut or hesitation on boost until today. When giving it some beans in 1st or 2nd at full pelt the car felt like it was dying out then suddenly came back to life and pulled all the way back up to the limit fine...
Is this fuel cut?? It wasnt the face into your windscreen type experience, more like a little hesitation before the car came back to life :)
max peak boost of 14.5 psi and 13 degrees outside enough to cause fuel cut??
no, fuel cut is very brutal, its like knocking a switch off, not gradual. You need around 1.2BAR to hit fuel cut in cold weather in my 14a.
cracked/loose boost pipe work?
how full was the fuel tank?
1/2 full, also happened this morning when the tank was below the last 1/4 mark
ok, fuel surge is out then.
It did this just once? not done it since? bugger you edited. :D
what fuel pump do you have?
uprated walbro - connections have come loose before
uprated walbro - connections have come loose before  Not inside the tank i hope? I would check that first, you could have just lost the fuel supply for a split second.
the connection that doesnt need crimping has come loose before at the top of the pump, symptons there were crappy running and hesitation off boost....
i hit fuel cut at 12 digrees temp at 1.4 bar coming up the slip road onto the m6. you would know it its fuel cut, will feel as if the engine fell out.
you mean the snap shut plug on top of the pump? if you do that should never work loose as its got a latch on it to hold it closed, thats quite dangerous if yours is working loose at that plug, you could get a spark. :o
just been out for a blat, no sign of hesitation on boost and planting right foot :)
i did notice previously today that my boost peaked at at high 14.5psi-15psi before dropping down 3psi (bren device can spike up down occasionaly)sign of a cooler pipe leak?
