down on power

I have an S14 and its down on power. For a while now theres been a bit of a hesitation when I accelerate hard on the motorway. Ive had it looked at and the guy said all the electrics etc. were OK and there were no boost leaks. He did a diagnostic and other tests that seemed to confirm that all was well. I just had a new exhaust fitted and the hesitation has improved but there is still not too much power. It seems that as the engin reaches around 5500 rpm power drops right off. The guy at the garage said it could be a faulty waste gate but Im not sure...

Any ideas anyone????? :confused:

EGR may need plugging
weak fuel pump
old plugs or loose plugs
coil packs
rubbish petrol
clogged/old fuel filter

could be any of those if its definately not boost leaks

Have you got a boost gauge, it could be a weak actuator thats loosing boost ;)
