Yeah Papa how does the DSBC Spec-S compare with the std DSBC, i may have to have one of those. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Any literature?

Jezz.

Morning!!

OK the DSBC Spec S IS actually the replacement for the S-SBC (it has a single solenoid). The Spec R (replaces current DSBC) is also available but will be more expensive (circa £330-340 off the top of my head).

Jezz, I'll see what specs I can get on the Blitz but unfortunately last I looked Blitz had not updated the range on their site. But I'll try and scan in some pics.

From what I can see the capabilities will be similar to the S-SBC but with a flashier head unit.

Bren I'll drop you a mail later http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Will - its neither it is actually a new controller which is not available in the UK yet. It is NOT the same as the DSBC on Blitz UK site. As for how it looks, I believe its black with silver knobs on http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Matt - who can predict the future? I may well still be doing this sort of buy in a few months, I may not. It depends on how these first few go, amongnst other things. Prices are highly variable depending on exchange rates.

As for the best, well, the Greddy is an established product, the Blitz is a new one. You can be certain either will "do the job".

Beavertron - I know its confusing and it is probably for marketing reasons. The S-SBC or DSBC Spec S will both control boost efficiently and with few frills. They (and the Profec B) won't have the "fuzzy logic" learning modes of the more expensive ones.

If anyone specifically wants other types I can get prices.

Cheers

Cheers Papa,

My money is now with Ben who is sorting out the payment as per yesterday's phone call.

Cheers for arranging the deal

ooohhhhh,

could be intersted in a Super AFC, do I need one though? Have got unichip.

Papa Lazarou
08-02-2002, 10:59
In all honesty John the Unichip should be capable of looking after the fuelling. The S-AFC MAY still be of use as according to Jez the Unichip doesn't seem to have the option to use different Air Flow Meters, which the AFC does with ease, so it may be useful once the stock one starts reach full capacity.

But, if I were you I'd buy an FMIC first (if you haven't sorted one already :D )

Papa Lazarou
09-02-2002, 11:01
Not a lot more info that I can find as of yet, sorry. Heres a pic of it :

http://website.lineone.net/~jon_ed/SBC_SpecS.JPG

This is the model it replaces :

http://www.blitz.co.jp/products/electonic/sbc/ssbc/S-sbc.gif

And this is what they say about it (rough Japanese translation) :

With electric type VVC wonder it actualizes price low. - As for setting boost 2 modes of LO and HI memory possibility. At change one of switches supercharging pressure unrestrictedly variable. - The controller and the control box, the controller 1 / compact conversion of 4DIN size was actualized by the fact that valve unit is designated as 3 piece structures. - Setting adopts the boost control system of CPU control, most cars can show largest potential with just setting of boost pressure. - In order to make the setting of nighttime easy, the light/write to raise the mode switch, visibility and operativity improvement. - You use the small-sized advanced solenoid valve, guarantee the stability of the booth and pressure. Largest potential is shown in the ライトチューン car. - With which of west gate type and actuator type, at change one of switches corresponding possibility. - In order to utilize standing rising speed of boost to the maximum, you adopt GAIN adjustment system.

Matt I really need to get this one ordered very shortly. Just waiting for one cheque to be re-sent and for an answer for Will on an SBC harness and the order will then be confirmed.

I have peoples money so can't hang about. I'm sure you understand ;)

As for future buys, I don't see any reason why not if this goes OK. As long as its not more hassle than its worth, then I will be happy to sort out this sort of thing in future!

Wrong

the UNICHIP can control airflow and adapt for different injectors

the good thing with it though is you can have hi and low setting maps. So if your cruising around town u simply switch to the Low Map Setting.

But I should point out I was trying to discourage John from buying one.... Anyway, I was simply referring to a post I read by Jez. He obtained a copy of the Unichip mapping software and he states there is no facility to tune the AFM, at least in the software. Although I'm sure you could work around this somehow.
