Bren,

Maybe is they were a bit cheaper. I'm sure some guys have had quotes of about £140 fitted.

These would be designed to bolt straight onto the rest of a mongoose right? So no cutting / welding / friggin with brackets required?

Are they going to tuck up nicely against the bumper as I don't want to loose much more ground clearance.

Any chance of going bigger than 5"? :D

Whos quoted £140 fitted? Theres no chance of me getting the price down that low.

If I had four confirmed orders before I placed the order then Id do them for £150 a piece. If Im going to expect to sit on three or more rear boxes for some time before I find customers then I have to justify tying up the capital and so have to have a reasonable return on my investment :)

And yes, they will attach straight onto the exsisting system so no messing about :)

If only this BB had been around when I 1st got my S13. Maybe I wouldnt have spent 450 quid on a crappy Scorpion with twin 3in pipes, that sounds like a 1l corsa :(

I am sure that Scorpion work in different inches to me, cos they are nearer 2.5inch than 3.

Wonder how hard it would be to get an Apex back box to fit mine! :D

I think Gee got one from an engineering firm near me for £140 tailored to fit his Goose. Made of your finest Stainless Steel which the company also uses for fabricating Marine applications. Fishscale welds the lot !. Their finished products look like the top Jap stuff !

J959,

Yeah I think it was Gee who said he got one for £140 fitted.

Bren,

£150 is getting more like it :) Would that include postage? I'd have to pay for someone to fit it as well. Are you able to go any bigger than 5"? How big are some of the Jap exhausts??? I'm sure some of them are bigger than 5"?

Have you got any rough sketches of what its likely to look like?

Anyone know how much somewhere like Tube Torque would charge to get this sort of thing custom made to your exact requirements? (want it big and loud but also quite well tucked up so I don't scrape the hell out of it).

Not a bad price for a custom back box :)

£150 doesnt include carriage, thatll be another £9.

They will be 5" as thats what the company has developed for me :) I cant do them bigger unless you want to spend silly money one one off.

I got my custom backbox from RMS Engineering in Prestwick.
It is made in stainless steel with a lifetime guarantee and has a 5" Tailpipe.

The total cost was £170 inc fitting and vat.:D

If I can get one for £150 then I'll have one.

What kind of welding will there be on the back box bren?

I was thinking of getting a DP Motorsport back box (£200), but if you can do an equally good quality back box for £150 then my money will be on it's way to you.

:)

Don't suppose u could wait for like a month or so b4 making these 'cos I am waiting on pay rise b4 anything else is bought, if not then how much would it be if u were just gonna get one made up to send out?

Beavetron,

No sorry :(

Bond,

It would take a month for them to be made. I have to buy in batches of five minimum. If I ordered just one then Id get stung big time with the price and you would end up paying silly money.

J595 HAS, the price I was quoted was also £140 fitted.

The final price was £164.95 after VAT.

I got mine fitted today.

It has all the noise of the Mongoose but in a much deeper tone!:D :D :D

They will look something along the lines of this:

Not exactly the same, I imagine the rear box will be oval not round, but something like :)

Theres seems to be enough interest to justify me ordering a batch :)

Are these in the making now Bren? Also, u mentioned that they were gonna be oval, can u not do them round like the Super Dragger?

bren
26-03-2002, 11:15
I mean the box will be oval, not the exit pipe. And no I cant make the box round unless you want to pay double the price!!

They are in production now, shouldnt be long, a couple of weeks :)
