My lower rear shocks are 'badly perished', making the back end skip around over grids, etc. Was told it'd be advisable to change the springs as part of the shocks?

What's reccommended as far as rear shocks go, rough prices, etc.

Many thanks all :)

If a shock is 'uprated', in this case by 30%.. wossit mean?

And what or who are KYB? :)

Ah! :D

KYB are Kayaba, they are used as original equipment shocks for a long long list of car manufacturers including Nissan, Mazda, Ford etc etc. 40 odd in total. That gives you an idea of the quality of them.

30% uprated means they are 30% stiffer than standard giving a harder ride and reducing body roll going into corners etc.

Ideally you should do front and rears at the same time but you can do the backs for now and uprate the front when youre ready.

The fronts are £79.50 a piece but if you buy all four at once Ill do them for £250 :)

Konis are all well and good but the fronts are inserts whilst KYBs are complete units. This means that if you go for Konis you have to mess around drilling the original units whilst KYBs are a straight replacement :)

KYB shocks are made by kayaba (www.kayaba.co.uk), they're a pretty big manufacturer.

30% uprated roughly translates to 'can take 30% more stick than the originals'.

Oooh ta :)

Having to do things bit by bit due to financial restrictions, so it'll be April before I even go for them, but no harm in doing my homework :)

Thanks for the info Bren, Nissan quoted me £190 just for the rears + fitting.

Re: fitting.. I've no mech. knowledge whatsoever, easy enough to fit with the aid of some instructions.. Or shall I just find someone to do it for me when the time comes?

Ta :)
