Did you get the email I sent today asking about prices/details of a couple of bits?

I have another question or three:

What springs can you supply,
What do they cost,
How much do they drop the car by?

H&Rs are £130 delivered and Eibachs are now £149 delivered (retail at £170 plus £9 carriage!!). Both sets will give a 30mm drop :)

Thanks Bren,

I guess Eibach have put their prices up recently?

Do you know the spring ratings of each type?

Is there any reason why I should go for Eibach over H&R?

bren

My Eibachs price is more exspensive for two reasons. One is that Eibach have indeed just put their prices up and secondly I was making bugger all on the sets before because Id misquoted!

Ive no reason to recommend Eibachs over H&R but then Ive never had either set fitted to any of my cars so Im not really in a position to advise.

Having said that H&R are a top quality make and I see no reason why you would not be 100% happy with them :)

OK, I'll have a set of H&R springs please.

(Front and rears, obviously :D)

I'm sending you an email now.

Bean,

Ok Ill sort it tommorrow :)

fatty,

Ummm, tricky one. I deal with Spax, Koni, Eibach, Lead, H&R, Apex (not me, the suspension company!) etc and no-one Ive come accross does a kit lower than 35mm :(

Maybe one of the Jap companies does a lower kit, they dont list the drop in their literature though :(

Anyone know of a company doing a 50mm drop???

If there seems to be enough demand then Ill commission Leda to make up some sets for us :)

Thanks Bren, I've sent you an email.

Fatty> I personally wouldn't go lower than a a 30mm drop. You won't be able to park up on curbs, speed ramps will become a problem and your zorst will wear from the occasional scraping.

P.S. I'm sure there are Jap Tuning companies out there who will do a 50mm drop or greater. After all, Mr Norris has a reported drop of 80mm!

Fatty :o HKS Sport Springs lower the car 43 mm at the front and 13 mm at the rear. They are sold in sets of four. These will be extremely hard springs.

HKS Super Form Springs lower about 40mm at the front and 12mm at the rear, and are somewhat softer than the Sport type.

They will be quite nice if you can live with the nose down appearance of the car!

Bean,

Sorry, missed your reply. Im just waiting to hear back from the distributers as to availability.

Leda wont make me 50mm drop springs but Im onto a company now about getting some kits sepcially made for the S13 and S14 :)

Ben,

They would have to be special order as they are not listed in the UK Eibach catalogue. Ill ring Eibach now..........

They do indeed do a kit Sportsline kit for the 240SX. The 89-94 model (S13??) will give a 2.2" drop on the front and 2.1" drop on the rear (i.e. 55mm drop on front and 52.5 drop on rear) and the later 95-98 240SX (S14??) give around a 1.7" drop all round (42.5mm).

They will take around 8 weeks to arrive unless you want to pay through the nose for individual shipping and I should have a price tommorrow :)

Fatty, asked a company this morning who make springs about 5omm drops, they can easily do em, BUT it turns out they make the springs for S.E.nissan and so won't make em, daft i know but there you go. RSR springs, dear, but fantastic quality M8 i'd go for them, regardless of price.

Bren, no worries. I don't need a set myself (I've got a set of Tein HAs on order) I'm just trying to help people out :)

bren
21-02-2002, 13:11
Regarding the 50mm drop springs, I can get them specially made and finished in any colour for £110 but Ive got to buy five sets minimum to get them for sensible money.

It will take 20 days to produce them.

Bean,

Just phoned them again but they havent heard back from H&R yet
